Ok, I go first. Maneki neko is a good luck cat. Literally, it is a beckoning cat (notice the raised arm) that calls in fortune or money or customers. It is often seen in front of shops. My real name is Cat so neko seemed a nice name. I chose Maneki neko because when Japinoy started, one of my major responsibilities is to invite (Japanese verb maneku, to invite) people to join. Also, I hope to bring good fortune to the site

 well, i guess you all know what 'aozora' means right? for those who doesn't, it means 'blue sky' in japanese..when i was signing up for this sight i was having a hard time picking out a username...i wanted something easy to remember but means something nice...since i was having a hard time i decided to go the park with my friend for a while...soooo we were hanging around the park when she said out of nowhere,'aozora kirei da ne~.' and that's how i got the aozora part...*credit goes to my friend*

about the 8...i got the idea from K8's song 'Mugendai'...'Mugendai' basically mean 'eternal' and when K8 performs it they have this thing that they do with their hands and it forms an 8...and 8 represents something eternal coz it never ends, right?

sooo... when you put those two things together, my username basically means 'endless/eternal blue sky'...so yeah...hehehe...pretty long story for a username huh? hehehe...

Well, I have a story too for Wigent. Hehe. And it's a little geeky.

It's pronounced as y-gent. Wi- came from the word wireless. Gent- came from the word agent. So, it's Wireless Agent.

Most probably, it's your first time to hear this. But agent in IT is a program that does something what a real-live agent do--help people do something. Think of a travel agent or real estate agent. When you use a search engine like Google, you are actually asking an agent to do it for you. They propagate the World Wide Web and pick-up the information that you searched and return the result in your screen. Sometimes they are called spiders or robots.

Wireless would indicate that you use this agent in a wireless device, like your cellphone. Say, you are in Makati and you want to find an Italian restaurant. Key in these words in your mobile phone and the agent searches for an Italian restaurant. The search result tells you the addresses of the found Italian restaurants in Makati.

This was one of my proposals back in master's but for some reason it was turned down. Huhuhu.

Anyway, I though I'll be a wireless agent here in Japinoy.com and share to you what I know about Japan. Which is the basic foundation for Japinoy.com-- sharing each other's thought on everything Japanese!

@ aozora-san: The word 'aozora' does conjure up really, really nice images, doesn't it? And the '88' bit makes it even more positive...endless blue sky! So nice!

 i chose it because i like cats, as in, neko.

mimi means ears, but it's actually my nickname.

but having characters in anime that are girls with cat ears, it's like being all cute and trouble-making, right? i guess the name could mean that too.

hmmm, ako naman adik na adik kasi ako sa Final Fantasy especially FF8. So active ako sa maraming final fantasy forums site and eventually sa katamaran kong mag-isip ng username sa non-FF sites, yun nalang din ginagamit ko para madaling matandaan.Ü

Fave female character ko kasi si Rinoa, kaya yun. Nilagyan ko lang ng Lady kasi naisip ko na masyadong maikli pag Rinoa lang, aun.Ü

Actually my username is supposed to be a combination of MEGANE + NEKKO = Meganekko

Napag-alaman ko na single k lang pala ang neko, kaso wala na nagawa ko na... nakalakihan ko na... *awww*

Hmm, megane means glasses/spectacles in Japanese, while neko means cat. Kasi nakasalamin ako at mahilig sa pusa, haha~ Una ko tong ginamit sa chatrooms (http://www.apricotweb.com), ang first version pa nga niyan ay meganekodomo (kodomo means boy/child).

Pati mga classmates ko tawag na sakin megane, akala nila yun nga talaga first name ko, haha~ So yun lang.

(nabasa ko sa internet na ang totoong meaning ng MEGANEKKO ay yung kapag fan ka ng mga anime girls wearing glasses, hehe pede rin)
