Born September 20, 1977 to a Japanese father and a half Japanese/half Italian mother, Amuro Namie is a Japanese pop singer and Japanese idol originally from Naha, Okinawa. Debuting in 1992 in a girl group named Super Monkeys, she struggled to reach the top until the release of "TRY ME ~Watashi wo Shinijite~" in early 1995 which catapulted her into superstardom. Leaving the group the same year and joining forces with top producer Tetsuya Komuro, Namie went on to become a cultural phenomenon. Now after performing for well over a decade, she continues to be one of Japan's biggest pop acts.

Amuro Trivia: The tattoo on her arm reads "Haruto", her son's name with former husband Maruyama Masaharu (Sam). They divorced in July 2002.

i love amuro! it was my fanatic friend yung talagang may gusto sa kanya. dami nyang kwento about amuro, di ako makarelate. so naghanap ako ng mga songs and vids nya sa net tapos nagustuhan ko yung style nya. galing pa nya pumorma. i also like the quality of her voice, di matinis (sp?) unlike other j-idols.

Siya lang ang j-hiphop singer na gusto ko. nagandahan kasi ako sa "Wishing on the same star" na kanta nia kaya nag-download pako ng songs nia. aun. ang cute nung voice.Ü

Amuro Namie to release new album “PLAY” on June 27th

Amuro Namie will be cosplaying for the first time in a promotional video to promote her upcoming (and long awaited) album “PLAY”. The new album will contain songs such as “Can’t Sleep, Can’t Eat, I’m Sick,” “Baby Don’t Cry,” “Funky Town,” “Violet Sauce,” “Hide & Seek,” r”It’s all about you,” t”Pinky Key” and more.

Amuro Namie will begin her nationwide tour in Ichihara, Chiba on August 18th (40 venues, 53 performances).

My girlfriend's jealous of her. lagi niya minemention si Koda Kumi pag pinapakinggan ko si Namie sa iPod ko.

With Namie, she doesn't need to strip off most of her clothes just to be sexy... kasi sexy na talaga siya!!!! Simple lang mag-perform kahit sa mga major concerts nya, pati outfits simple pero hindi tulad nina Britney or Beyonce.

 The "Play" album is very good. The songs here that I like are Violet Sauce, Baby Don't Cry, Hello, and Can't Sleep, Can't Eat, I'm Sick. Maganda rin mga music videos nito (except Violelet Sauce, dunno kung me video to).

Speaking of sexy, Amuro's sexiness lies with her attitude...it's all about how she carries herself, and not how much clothes she sheds. She's sooo good!

hey, I'm not jealous of her! I'm just saying (in my own honest opinion) that Koda Kumi's voice is stronger and better. But then again, that's just me.

Anyway, I enjoy Namie Amuro's 'Nobody' including the song's TV MIX.
