Can I just say that: I LOVE THIS JDORAMA!

i love this dorama. very touching, funny...i would say that i prefer this over meteor garden. fast-paced and action-packed. i like the fact that makino is such a strong girl; you'd hardly see her crying. syempre may crying scenes din naman pero di marami.

i have some questions on HYD:

• who was the actress who played toudou shizuka? does she appear in any other dorama?
• who gave that christmas present to tsubaki (at the end of episode 9)? the gift tag said 'merry christmas to tsubaki'.
• what's with the 'tsu' names? tsukushi, tsukasa, tsubaki...

toudou shizuka was played by sada mayumi there isn't a lot of info about her on the net, though. it looks like she hasn't appeared in any other dorama.

as for your other 2 questions, we can always ask the dorama authority...yui!

i heard that the hana yori dango played by japanese actors came after the manga and anime versions. but when i watched this dorama, it says something like 2004? what i watched was jun matsumoto. is this a different version or is this the only one?

To answer your question, the manga came first. It became a very popular series and it came to about 30+ volumes of manga. It was made into an anime (51 episodes in all, I think) then a live action movie (one which casted Norika Fujiwara as a 'contrabida'). The MatsuJun dorama was shown in 2005, as you probably saw in the vids you watched. The Taiwanese version obviously came first before the MatsuJun one.

Personally, I prefer HYD MatsuJun version. IMHO, the actors were really good, unlike in Meteor Garden. Wooden acting. Hehe. My only complaint? It was too short!!

FYI - Kujo-sensei, Yankumi's love interest in Gokusen 2 is Tanihara Shosuke...who also played Domyouji Tsukasa in the 1995 movie, Hana Yori Dango! Can't believe it's the same person!!

Well, the Hanazawa Rui in 1995 is more good-looking than him...Fujiki Naohito!

heh. di hamak na mas pogi si matsu jun. hehe. but imho, matsu jun is better off playing the nice guy. sa umpisa kasi ng HYD, parang di masyadong convincing na masama ugali nya. wala lang, just my opinion.

Filming and airing will start on January 2007.
So I guess the HYD movie was changed to become a new season. Yatta! I can't wait~~~

btw, abe tsuyoshi, the guy who played akira, is chinese-japanese pala! kaya pala fluent sya sa chinese. if i remember correctly, sya yung marunong mag-chinese sa f4.
