    Recommend a book?

Just thought I would start this topic kse I sensed na maraming ring members ang forum who enjoy reading as a hobby. And as a reader to another reader may mga times na you would run out of things to read or authors to follow so here's somewhere where we can recommend a good reading material to our fellow members na mahilig din magbasa.

    Please allow me to start:

Sa mga mahilig sa Harry Potter - here's another series you should try. The Bartimaues Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud (Book 1: The Amulet of Samarkand; Book 2: Golem's Eye; and Book 3: Ptolemy's Gate) Maganda ung books and it's written by another British writer, and for those who are not satisfied with how HP turned out who will love these books. It's everything HP shoulfd have been. Great final battle, great character developments.

For Anne Rice Fans: Please try to pick "Blood and Gold"

For Dan Brown : for those who haven't read "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" also try "Deception Point".

For those who love mafioso stories: Here's something hard to find but a real treasure "The Corsican" by William Heffernan.

    Enjoy!

The word "IMPOSSIBLE" has no place in my dictionary.

Re: Sophie Kinsella - I was not a fan of chick lit before. I tried reading Confessions of a Shopaholic. Natrauma ako. That time kasi, medyo pabaya ako sa spending ko. The story in Confessions was horrifyingly close to the truth (although di naman umabot na puntong sinusulatan na ako ng bank manager, hehe), kaya di ko tinuloy ang pagbabasa! Big Smile Pero natapos ko na din this year. Finally got the courage to read the book till the end. Haha!

    Eurydice:

    nice thread shoujo_jen-san..

    Arigatou, Eurydice-san!

Maraming kasing readers on this forum kaya I thought of opening a thread about it. Saka I'm a big reader myself eh madalas I would run out of things to read. Been reading since I'm 11 years old and the passion is still quite alive...Big Smile

This is just to add to the list of books for those Michael Crichton fans like myself: Eaters of the Dead (13th Warrior); The Great Train Robbery, Andromeda Strain, Congo, Prey, Timeline, Airframe and of course don't forget Rising Sun.

Here's another author that belongs to my all-time favorite David Morrell - he's an awesome writer and his genre is fiction...suspense-thrillers to be more specific. His books inside The Fifth Profession; The Covenant of the Flame; The Bortherhood of the Rose; The Fraternity of the Stone; The League of Night and Fog; Rambo; The Totem; etc. Needless to say I am in love with his author...LOL!

For maccabre readers: Syempre nandyan si Anne Rice and Stephen King.

@ akiya-san : The Lost Templar - was it good? I love these sorts of books.

@ ryuchi-san : The Book of the Five Rings - where can I get a copy of this? I have the Art of War and honestly, its a good book to use especially on management functions. But I am really curious about this one...mostly because of the author. He's famous! As a samurai that is..Big Smile  And The Snow Queen, that's certainly a classic worth finding. Magbabasa ka rin pala ng Bob Ong works..he's good, satirical ang approach nya which is a good change.

The word "IMPOSSIBLE" has no place in my dictionary.

ryuchi-san: Snow Queen! Favorite ko rin to. It's so unlike the fairy tales we all grew up with. Mas "in your face" ang story. ^_^

Gusto mo pala si Haruki Murakami? I've read some of his books too (Sputnik Sweetheart included)...sadly, I'm probably in the minority. Di ko nae-enjoy ang stories nya kasi...make believe? I like the other Murakami, Ryu Murakami. ^_^
