Glay is:

• Teru (Kobashi Teruhiko) - vocals
• Takuro (Kubo Takuro) - guitar and keyboard
• Jiro (Wayama Yoshihito) - bass
• Hisashi (Tonomura Hisashi) - lead guitar

It was high school pals Teru and Takuro that originally formed Glay. They met Hisashi during a joint concert with Ari, Hisashi's band at that time. It was in 1989 that they met Jiro, in yet another joint concert with Jiro's band Pierrot.

To make the long story short, Glay played in small venues/audiences in Tokyo (they were originally from Hokkaido), their popularity growing every time and eventually, they were recruited by Yoshiki (of X Japan). They recorded their first Indie album, Hai to Daiyamondo (Ash and Diamonds) in December 1993. Five months later, their official debut single "Rain" was released. With concerts and TV appearances left and right, there was no stopping the Glay fire from spreading and Glay pride is very much alive!

i wasn't a glay fan...it was my crazed friend who got me into glay. she lent me her cds, and gave me A LOT of glay vids. she was right! glay is uber cool!!

aside from their music, which i think is really catchy (LSS material), i like their image too. not too visual kei, except for tono-chan. don't get me wrong, i love v-kei but somehow, glay looks so much better with a semi-vkei look.

am i actually making sense??

i think .. teru and takuro first gotten to know in high school after their 'sport' practice.. (baseball ata c teru) when the talk came to the familycom craze.. which teru wanted sooo much to have.. and takuro said that he has one and dont want it .. ' and teru suggest that takuro sell it to him..a nd he went to takuro's place.. :)

Because my g-friend...(Glay friend) is about to come home to Manila soon, I think I have to update this thread. Psst, nezu, dami talagang Glay songs sa Music21. Isa ata sila sa pinakamaraming kanta e.

Gawd! I still can't get over their very first looks. It makes me cringe. I mean, you have this bunch of bishonen but they outfits just didn't work well for them. Thank goodness for the make-over!!

Glay's Takuro is expecting his 2nd child with wife Seri, who is reportedly 7 months pregnant. The couple have 1 son together.

Rock band GLAY held an unprecendented live house performance yesterday, August 23, at O-EAST in Tokyo's Shibuya.

It has been 4 year's since the group's last live house was in Hakodate in 2003. Yesterday's performance was attended by 850 people, and tickets were sold out in 10 minutes. 

An excited TERU (36, vocals) said "This live house is really wonderful. I just want to let it all out and not think of anything." The crowd likewise literally rocked the place, shaking the floor with their jumping. The group performed 18 songs, including hits HOWEVER and Glorious and their new single "ASHES-1969" (due for release in October 31).
