    Recommend a non-Japanese Movie

Matagal ko na naisip toh. B/c I'm such a movie buff, masarap makarinig ng mga movie recommendations. Meron ng thread dun sa TV and Movie forum on Japanese movie kya eto, non-Japanese nilagay ko. It includes other foreign-language movies too. hahahah

What you only need to do is include in your recommended title the reason why you like it. I'll start!

Recently, I saw "Shawshank Redemption". Recommended by one of my students sa baito! hehe. From a Stephen King novel, it's about a wrongly accused man and his endeavors in the prison (Shawshank Prison) he was sent to. It's very character-driven kaya gustong gusto ko sha.

Another movie is "La Vita E Bella". Winner of 3 Academy Awards and was the first foreign film to be nominated for Best Picture. WWII movie, more specifically a Shoah (Holocaust) movie. This is the only film na humagulgol talaga ako.. haha. Mashadong naka-relate. And this is also the film that pushed me to recognize the world of the Jews more than 6 years ago. hahaha. More than a hundred times ko na napanood toh. Lagi ko nire-recommend kaya panoorin nyo. hehe.

    Now, your turn. Big Smile

Bittersweet. Tragic ang ending, pero ni-reinforce niya pa rin na 'life is beautiful'...especially if you have people like that who sacrifice for the people they love. Ganun talaga. Dito nanalo si Roberto Benigni di ba? Ung nagwala sya sa seat niya? Haha.

Yup!! Feeling nya, mockery siguro ung La Vita tpos Benigni was making a fool out of himself! haha.. Un lng ang naisip ko dun.

Anyhow... speaking of Schindler's List.. sobrang ganda rin nun. Sobrang daming beses ko n napanood un. Other Shoah movies na favorite ko... The Pianist..

Kahit nmn Pinoy, pwd maging Jew.... dahil Jews are more like a religious community rather than a "racial" one.. if there is such a thing as race.. haha

Speaking of Jews... I recommend "Fiddler on the Roof". hehe. Broadway Musical toh n gnwan ng movie. Sobrang ganda. 1920s sa Russia ang setting.

    Re: Recommend a non-Japanese Movie

    pede po ba kahit ano?

    anyways..siguro i would recommend

-->  "10 things i hate about you"...starring julia stiles and heath ledger... napili ko to kasi kinilig talaga ko nung kantahin hi heath ledger yung 'cant take my eyes off you'.. try no lang po..

    another one is..

----> "good will hunting"... starring matt damon, ben affleck and robin williams..ganda po talaga nito.. silang magbestfriend ang sumulat ng script ..nanalo din ito ng academy award for best supporting actor (williams) and best original screenplay.. some say na boring ito.. but on my part nagandahan tlaga ko. it's a story about a young genius (played by damon) who dont know how to put into good use his intelligence until a psychologist (williams) had come to help him.

the more i learn the less i become....

    Re: Recommend a non-Japanese Movie

    Hmm...ano bang okay na movies?

Amelie - My favorite French movie! Ang cute pa ni Audrey Tatou!!! Big Smile

Memoirs of a Geisha - Eh parang tatlo lang ata ang main characters na Japanese dito eh. Too bad the controversies got to the movie, maganda naman kasi talaga sya. Sana nga lang Japanese yung dialogue. Cute din si Zhang Ziyi!!! At ang galing ni Gong Li!!!

Kill Bill - If you haven't seen the Japanese cut, you haven't seen anything. I love the contrast of the various stories within the movie. Maganda rin si Uma Thurman.

Daisy - Ang cute ni Jeon Ji-Hyun!!! In fairness, para sa isang love story, napaka-maaksyon nito. Well, ang direktor...

The Simpsons Movie - D'oh! I dunno how many times I watched this in theaters!

Kakabakaba ka ba? - Hoot! Uber funny '70s movie. Starring Christopher De Leon, Charo Santos Jay Ilagan and Sandy Andolong. Evol!!!

Himala - All together now..."Walang himala!" I dunno kung bakit ayaw ng mga kaklase ko 'to. Maganda naman. "Ano bang pinagka-iba..."

Temptation Island - "Mas maraming ~~~~~ , mas maraming isda" To find out kung ano kailangan ng marami para makahuli ng isda, i click lang ito. Kung hindi ka lang matawa...manhid ka!!! LOL!

Bayaning Third World - Makabagong pag-tingin sa ating pambansang bayani. Mike de Leon soooo rocks.

A Clockwork Orange - Psych! Psych! Psych! Psych! Psych! Psych! 18 and above lang po. Or for those with very mature minds (Mine isn't so you'll enjoy this film).

The gods must be crazy.

    * Tagalog movie I hated when I was a kid: Send in the clowns (un ba un? Ung si Kuya Germs?). Nakakatrauma...
