Visual kei could be loosely defined as a genre in the underground indies rock scene in Japan. Visual kei bands are distinctly known for their eccentric, elaborate outfits. Famous bands who've emerged from this genre are X Japan, Luna Sea, L'Arc~en~Ciel, GLAY, and the less mainstream Dir en grey, Malice Mizer, Gazette, and Alice Nine, to name a few. does anyone listen to any visual kei bands here?

*raises hand* Me! I don't have a lot of vkei favorites, but I really like Malice Mizer. For the mainstream groups, I like GLAY, Luna Sea and Laruku ^_^ 

i'm not much for Malice Mizer, but i liked Gackt's earlier works when he went solo. Hisashi of GLAY was really cool when he was still dressing up. i think he still wears outfits that are somewhat vk-inspired. Luna Sea and Laruku are always love too

Distinctive make-ups, inspiring costumes, and striking hair arrangements are part of the expression founded on a concept intertwined with their music. The live performances showcase an abundance of mesmerizing and climaxing expressions of passion and emotion.

I love the visual Laruku (kahit hindi sila visual ay love ko parin sila <3 ). :)  pero yun nga, hindi na po visual ang Laruku. ayaw na ayaw nilang makakarinig na Visual Kei band sila. as in ayaw nila. ayun, hehe. :)

I listen to Dir~en~Grey, Luna Sea, Antique Cafe, Kaggra, Gazette, GLAY, Janne Da Arc and ALICE NINE (i love Alice Nine! <3)

matagal nakong curious sa Malice Mizer dahil kay Gackt. i've heard that ibang-iba raw si Gackt nung Malice Mizer days niya.  X Japan is also great :)

Lately ay nawiwili ako sa music ng Nightmare  :)  pinarinig kasi sakin nung kaklase ko yung theme ng Death Note Anime na kanta ng Nightmare :)

yupyup i remember l'arc nung mahaba pa hair ni hyde at nag-mini pencil skirts pa sya! pamatay talaga ang hita mas maliit pa sakin haha! omg i love your list of vk artists! i've noticed kasi most of your posts were more on jpop artists, i didn't think you listened to jrock-vk too ^^ yupyup sobrang iba talaga ni Gackt when he was still in Malice Mizer. you'd be quite surprised of the music he made back then. even the whole image. i don't like them much. 2 lang ata ng mga kanta nila meron ako e. sakurai atsushi's voice is total smex love. i love his deep voice! sobrang sexy XDD *fangirl*

oh yes!!!!! the thighs are love!!!!!!! <3  hehehehehehehe. :)   hyde was so pretty and sexy during their indies. :)     when i listened to Laruku's new songs (from their soon-to-be-released album) ay may pagka-'dune' xa..  grabe.  tunog indies l'arc :) i love it Ü

ah, kasi napansin ko na mahilig mostly ang mga taga-japinoy sa jpop, kaya puro about jpop ang pinopost ko. hehe ÜÜ

i like alice nine too! pero mas gusto ko ung kasabayan nila na ung gazette. my favorite song from them right now is Rosario. fave member ko sa kanila si Saga. have you seen their movie, "Number Six"? (based from the pv). god. shou can't act at all! XDD

nah, i havent seen it >.<  how was his acting? :) hehehehehe.

my fave song from them is Jewels :)

grabe. sobrang lame. the rest of the four are decent, pero si shou talaga nakakatawa ung acting. seems to me he's being very conscious and trying too hard. ung iba parang wala lang sa kanila e. haha. i dled the a9 movie from silly-disco.livejournal.com. if you can't find it in the recent entries, i'm sure it's in the archives section ^^
