ELLEGARDEN invades Hollywood
In front of a crowd of approximately 300-400, ELLEGARDEN rocked out at Knitting Factory, Hollywood, on July 24, 2007.
The 4-member band toured the US last year but never made a stop in Los Angeles.
Vocalist Hosomi told the enthusiastic crowd in his fluent English that the LA crowd was even better than the one they received at SXSW last year in Austin, TX.
To promote their latest album ELEVEN FIRE CRACKERS for a US release, ELLEGARDEN was all fired up and performed all their English songs from the album in the set, as well as many classics from previous albums, such as Red Hot, Marry Me, Missing, I Hate It, Supernova, The Autumn Song, etc.
Their punk-pop-rock sound gave nobody a break, and the whole floor was shaking the entire night, with arms waving all over the place.
They even came out for two separate encores because the crowd just refuse to let them leave!
The Chiba natives formed the band almost eight years ago, and now with five albums under their belt, the band is ready to explore the US market.
Under Dynamord Records, even though ELLEGARDEN is still technically considered an indie band, their singles and albums have consistently atop the major music charts in Japan whenever they were released.
Although most of ELLEGARDEN’s lyrics were in English, language has never been an issue for them in Japan, and the Japanese have greatly embraced ELLEGARDEN’s music, as proven by the popularity and success in their CD sales and nationwide tours.
With the language barrier out of the way, is the US ready for ELLEGARDEN?
ELEVEN FIRE CRACKERS will hit the stores on July 31, 2007, and is already available digitally on iTunes and Nettwerk store.
