Kato Miliyah promotes fashion designer KAWI JAMELE


Yesterday, the fashion designer KAWI JAMELE opened her first store in the Laforet building in Harajuku with a special guest, Kato Miliyah. The popular R&B singer showed up to help greet the new customers.

By 11 AM, there was a line outside the store just to get inside, and they were averaging about 500 guests in each hour. Kato Miliyah made her appearance behind the counter, which stirred some fans to emotional tears. Those who bought some of the western style clothes got to talk to the singer and have their clothes handed to them by her. The fans who saw the singer were quite happy that they had some western style clothing designed by her to take home and enjoy.

KAWI JAMELE said of her clothes, “I wanted to have a powerful brand for strength and beauty.” As a result, she decided to start a brand with Kato Miliyah.

Right now, the designer has the store collection and expanded online options, but she is planning on opening another store on August 27th in Shinjuku, and a Shinsaibashi store on September 10th.

Fashionable singer Miliyah Kato will be releasing a new fragrance titled "SAMOURAI WOMAN". It's set to be released Sempteber 23rd. Miliyah will also be featured on j-urban artist AI's new single "Stronger". The single will be released October 23rd.

Kato Miliyah to release her first PV collection DVD

R&B songstress Kato Miliyah has announced her first DVD music video clips collection titled “MILIYAH THE CLIPS 2004-2010,” due for release on December 8th.

The DVD video compilation will contain videos from her debut in 2004 up until her latest music video from this year, “X.O.X.O.“ It will be a nice historical look into the vocalist and her journey from her debut to when she finally hit number one on Oricon with her “HEAVEN” album.

Fans who pick up the limited edition of the release will also get a bonus CD and postcard. The postcard gift will be a message card from Kato Miliyah. The CD will come with a new song that was recorded for “HEAVEN” and also Miliyah’s first Christmas song, “Only Holy.” The song “Only Holy” will also be up for download on Chaku-Uta starting on November 17th.

Kato Miliyah reveals more clip collection details

We recently announced that R&B star Kato Miliyah would be releasing her first PV collection DVD, and already the vocalist has revealed the full track list for the DVD.

“MILIYAH THE CLIPS 2004-2010” will cover everything from her debut straight up to her newest video, “X.O.X.O.“ In total, this gives fans 29 of her music videos over her six year career.

The special edition box will contain a CD with the song “Only Holy,” Miliyah’s first Christmas song. Fans who don’t want to wait for the video collection to hear the song can get it from Chaku-Uta downloads starting on November 17th.

Winners of “VOGUE NIPPON Women of the Year 2010″

An awards ceremony for “VOGUE NIPPON Women of the Year 2010” was held on November 22nd, and the winners showed up in gorgeous dresses for the event.

This is the 6th year this award has been held, and the purpose is to choose women who showed their strong images in different roles. This year’s winners were: Ishihara Satomi, Kato Miliyah, Kusakari Tamiyo, Krumm Date Kimiko (pro tennis player), Kuroki Meisa, Nishihara Rieko (manga author), TAO (model), and Terashima Shinobu.

Kato Miliyah’s “WHY” becomes a drama theme song

LISMO drama “Konzen Ryokou – Janzei Yappai 21 Kara-” has selected Kato Miliyah’s song “WHY” for their theme song.

Kato Miliyah’s song “WHY” was released as a single back in November 2009, and despite the fact that it is an older release, it was still selected as being the most appropriate for the show.

The drama is a continuation of last year’s hit, “Konzen Ryokou – Janzei Yappai 17 Kara-.” In season two, viewers will follow the main character ‘Chie’ (24), and how she deals with the challenges of relationships, marriage, and meeting different people.

Kato Miliyah’s “WHY” was chosen to express the theme of “why not me?”, which the main character will have to deal with in the drama.

Kato Miliyah announces new single at final stop of nationwide tour

J-urban singer Kato Miliyah released her fifth album, “HEAVEN”, on February 10th and has actively been promoting it through her nationwide tour, “‘ETERNAL HEAVEN’ TOUR 2010-2011,” since November 2010. During the last stop of her fifteen city tour, the singer announced that she would be releasing a new single!

Kato’s newest single, “Yuujatachi,” will be released on March 16th and will come in two versions: a limited edition and a regular edition. Although little else could be revealed during her announcement, the singer did share some insight into her new song. “It’s a song about how everyone is a hero,” Kato announced in front of 10,000 of her fans. “I wrote everything I want to tell you now in that song, so everyone, you absolutely have to listen to it!”

Kato Miliyah to broadcast latest tour on WOWOW

J-pop singer Kato Miliyah held the last stop of her nationwide “‘ETERNAL HEAVEN’ TOUR 2010-2011” on February 10th, but don’t worry – if you were unable to attend the tour in person, the entire February 10th concert will be broadcast on WOWOW!

Kato sang a total of 24 songs for the last performance on her tour, including an encore that moved the singer to tears. The popular fashion icon also wore six varied costumes on stage, including a ferocious body-length fur getup for “B.F.F.”, and an angelic, winged dress for her performance of “Sora.”

The concert will be broadcast on WOWOW at 9:00 PM JST on February 24th.
