Re: All about Naruto ???

Re: All about Naruto ???
Nice angle, oda_do.
Actually, shinobi is the practice of "dark" art of improving your skill. I quoted dark because this is how they refer to it even before those times and I think until now. But the word dark I think wouldn't relate to something evil as most people during and before the Tokugawa period referred to.
Dark would mean something mysterious or unknown (and people would always relate these two words to evil [^o)]). Their practice of shinobi has led them to develop supernatural powers--jumping high, disappearing quickly, quicker reflexes, and other unbelievable techniques.
Because they practice this shinobi they were eventually/practically called Shinobi Ninjas. To display your gender, kindly follow the instructions: How to enable gender field

@ oda_do: Haha!
Hmm...sige na nga, bagay na bagay na sa iyo yung costume. Sakto pati facial expression.
Thanks for the lecture about Ninja levels. Ang familiar lang ako talaga dyan ay Kage, hehe. Very informative! Ngayon, parang gusto ko na tuloy aralin ang tungkol sa mga ninja. Dati kasi, exclusive lang akong nagbabasa about samurai el.
@ Wigent: Good analysis! :Y I will have to find that link to the article about the law that was passed to protect the ninja image. Kasi nga naman, sa popular media, ninjas have been portrayed as evil people, when in fact, they are warriors too, just like the samurai.
OT: Pansin ko lang, parang common ninja name ang Sasuke.

Re: All about Naruto ???
This won't be possible if not all Ninjas practice Shinobi.

In the movie Shinobi - Heart under Blade, the English subtitle for shinobi was ninja, ifI remember correctly.

Re: All about Naruto ???
So in this case, I guess it's for practical reasons rather than giving the exact translation. For viewers to understand, the translators of the shows directly translated Ninja for Shinobi for easier comprehension. But the truth is, not all Ninjas practice Shinobi-ism and if this were the case then not all Ninjas can be called Shinobis.
Is this correct? To display your gender, kindly follow the instructions: How to enable gender field

Re: All about Naruto ???
I think Ninja isthe same as Shinobi. Shinobi no mono, when written in Kanji, is ???. Ninja, in Kanji is ??.Nawala lang ang 'no'. Both refer to people who practice ninjutsu, ??.
