The Gift of Dance: An Okinawa- Manila Performance

Okinawa and Manila have been enjoying special relations for hundreds of years and significantly, Okinawan migrants have settled and consequently still enjoy a harmonious life in Manila.
<P align=justify>In line with this historical background, the Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) and the Embassy of Japan, in cooperation with the City of Manila and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), present “Okinawan Buyo: An Okinawa- Manila Joint Performance” featuring the Sinaglahi Dance Troupe and the Okinawa Culture Society, on July 3, Thursday, 7:30 PM at the Philamlife Auditorium, UN Avenue, Ermita, Manila. The special performance formally launches the month-long celebration of Philippines-Japan Friendship in July.
<P align=justify>The event features an Okinawa dance troupe composed of prominent musicians - including a national artist, will showcase Japanese classical court and folk dances. The audience will undoubtedly be presented with the cheerful arts of Okinawa which is a fusion of the best art styles of Okinawa's longtime trading partners - China and Southeast Asian countries. The said performance of the Okinawa Culture Association will be complemented by performances of Philippine folk songs and dances by the Sinaglahi Dance Troupe.

maganda po ... yung ma sumayaw puro mga babae... mga traditional dance yung first part then 10min intermission after nun filipino dance troup na (i forgot their name) maganda kasi nagpakitang gilas yung sa atin mejo may konting mistakes like may parang naipit yata sa kawayan (tinikling) heheh pero astig yung over all performance, then sa pinaka last part dun may audience participation naghatak sila ng mga nilalang from the audience then sumayaw sa stage .... aun

alam ko kinabukasan sa u.p may workshop ng mga sinayaw nila kaya lang unfortunately []di na kami nakarating kasi may klase po kami
