Re: 2008 Japanese-Language Program for Overseas Students (Outstanding Students)
Tsaka feeling ko malakas ang dating ko sa interview because of my passion for other things Japanese -- that time, medyo kakaiba kasi ang trip ko. The knack is to show how passionate you are about their culture...common ang anime, manga, etc.

They are very proud of their culture, that is why they love people who love Japanese culture (not only popular culture).

Re: 2008 Japanese-Language Program for Overseas Students (Outstanding Students)
Ang reason kasi dyan, mas 'attractive' ang contestant who goes beyond the common and mainstream interests. The judges, I think, look at the underdogs in the contest and how they fare "culturally" against the more Nihongo-proficient contestants. ^_^
