IKIMONOGAKARI (いきものがかり)

* Yoshioka Kiyoe (吉岡聖恵): Vocals
* Mizuno Yoshiki (水野良樹): Guitar & Vocals; leader
* Yamashita Hotaka (山下穂尊): Guitar & Harmonica

Ikimono Gakari formed in February 1999 as an indie band based in Kanagawa, Japan. Founded by Mizuno Yoshiki and Yamashita Hotaka, the two began doing street performances and decided on their name of "Ikimono Gakari". In December of the same year Yoshioka Kiyoe joined as the group's main vocalist. However, nearly one year later the three disbanded in order for Yoshiki and Hotaka to focus on their university entrance exams. Their reformation occured in March 2002 after the two had gone through their university classes.

Four years after their formation, their first album was released on an indies label. They were signed to Epic Japan Records and released their first mainstream single SAKURA in March 2006. The title song was used in NTT East Japan commercials and heard on various televised programs.

Ikimonogakari returns in the summer with their 10th single, ブルーバード (Blue Bird), to be released on 2008.7.9.!! The single is currently used as the opening theme of TV Tokyo's broadcast of the Naruto anime.

one of the feel good bands 'tong Ikimono Gakari. Parang HY (But I like HY better than them.) Got their second album, and the best tracks include GOOD MORNING, MISO SOUP and ME the Moon and our refrigerator.

fell in love witht his band when i heard "hana wa sakura kimi wo utsukushii"(where i learned the meaning of the word "komorebi" -- sunlight filtering through the trees Smile )

current favorite ko naman yung "blue bird"

Ikimono Gakari will be releasing a new single on October 15, 2008. The A-side track is entitled 'Planetarium'. ^_^

the vocalist i believe had a tonal quality similar to Lea Salonga when she was younger. She simply moved me a lot...
