Since I love this man very much, I decided to start a thread about him.  Everything about him will be put here, including his solo works ^_^

Hmmmm.. Where to start? There's so much to say about him <3  ^_^

HYDE, as we all know, is the vocalist and main lyricist of Japanese rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel. At first, he was really insisting to be the guitarist of Laruku but then, when he tried to sing, he said that it fits him.

HYDE was born on January 29, 1969 at Wakayama, Japan. Rumours tell us that his last name is Takarai but from reading some things about him, I am 90% sure that Takarai is not his last name. Anyway...

He started his solo career in October of 2001. He released his first solo single, "Evergreen".  He also released the singles "Shallow Sleep" and "Angel's Tale".  Those singles were then included in his first album "Roentgen".  HYDE said in an interview that he wanted to show his poetic side through this album.  His sophomore album "666" includes his singles, "Hello" and Horizon", both topping the Oricon Charts.  His third and latest album "Faith" includes his singles "Countdown" (OST of the Japanese release of 'Stealth') and Season's Call (second opening song of the anime Blood+).

Other things about HYDE:

- On December 25, 2000 he married Megumi Oishii. And on November 11, 2003, Megumi gave birth to their first baby.

- His former band was Jerusalem's Rod. He was the founder and guitarist of that band.

- HYDE composed the music for Mika Nakashima's song, 'Glamorous Sky'. OST of the movie 'Nana'.

- His movies are Moon Child, where he co-starred with Gackt and Wang Lee Hom)  and  Kagen no Tsuki.

~ i still have lots of things to say about him but this will do for today.. i'll add more stuff about him next time. but for the meantime, i'd really really really recommend his albums Roentgen and Faith. Especially Faith.. It's one of the best albums I've ever heard. ~

hyde has a long interview on FM802, part of which aired tonight. The rest will play next week. I took notes as I listened so here is a short summary/translation. Enjoy!

First they talk about how busy he has been, from his solo tour in 2006 straight into L'Arc activities in 2007.

There is small talk, and then:

host : If you could try another job, what would it be?
hyde : I'd like to be a host. (Note : as in for a club, see Ouran Host Club for example)
host : But you can do that easily! Your life must already be a party, champagne and girls and everything.
hyde : Sure I guess... but I've never been a friend to the girls.
Host : I see... well you'd be succesful. You could get a lot of money doing that job!
hyde : Yeah money. I like money, can't get enough.
host : You'd do great!

Host asks about KISS, when was it made?
hyde : We got together at the beginning of the year to show songs to each other, and to the staff, then we each made a top ten and decided which songs to use.

hyde also said that some songs are TOO good, they contain things that will take one of them far too long to be able to play properly, so they can't record those.

They talk about how the songs on KISS are so different from each other, it's amazing that all of it comes from the same band.
hyde : But that's what makes us cool. We are good at everything, rock, dark, light, whatever. And this one is intentionally pop.

Actually, hyde wasn't sure the others would take his pop songs, but they did. So the album became pop, like he was hoping.
hyde : I once again experienced how we are the band that can do anything.

host : How do you balance out weird songs like yukihiro-san's? (she means lyrically)
hyde : Well it's my own fault, because I made the others write the lyrics of one song each.
host : How does it feel to sing lyrics someone else wrote?
hyde : I used to hate it, but now it's fine. Though sometimes it gets really weird, like with ken's Pretty girl. There are things in it that I would NEVER say. "I'll come give you what you want""break down my door"... I don't say these things!
host : So why did you get him to write a song?
hyde : It's just so I would have time... besides it's been 16 years now so I don't need to be careful with them anymore, no need to be guarded.

He goes on a bit about how they know each other so well that he doesn't need to explain himself and tell them what to do or not to do, because they already understand each other's sticking points.

Host asks about Hurry Xmas, and about the foreign santas.
hyde : Actaually they were from Tokyo University, they're all foreign students.
host : Is that so? Students?
hyde : Yes, we needed a lot of foreigners so they were recruited from the university.

Then they talk about snow in Tokyo, it's been a while since there's been any but hyde misses it.
hyde : I like winter.
host : Could it be because you were born this season?
hyde : Yeah that might be it.

ewan ko ba pero medyo naasar ako sa balitang to.  kasi ba naman, kababalik lang ng Laruku ulit sa music scene matapos mag-Faith tour si hyde nung 2006 tas ito na naman.. solo project na naman >_<  so, wala na namang laruku sa 2nd half ng 2008. >_<
