This year's Kohaku Uta Gassen will see performances by three acts that are well known to the Akihabara crowd: idol group AKB48, "otaku idol" Shoko Nakagawa, and popular gravure idol Leah Dizon. It will be the first Kohaku appearance for all of them.

According to reports, NHK is planning to have them be the "top batter" (opening act) for the Red Team. Each of the three will sing their own songs, then will take the stage together for an anime theme song performance. Negotiations with the relevant management agencies are still under way, but the plan is said to be very likely to happen.  Tokyograph

According to one Sankei MSN article I read, there were quite a number of Kouhaku fans who were surprised at this news, and many horrified at having Akiba idols in the year's biggest musical event.

Regarding AKB48, there were Kouhaku related threads where people where asking who AKB48 were.

Nakagawa Shoko is apparently quite popular so her Kouhaku appearance is somewhat expected already. As for gravue artist Leah Dizon, people are saying the Kouhaku isn't an otaku event.

Ah well, things seem to be looking good for the White team! Hahaha.

Kaiser-Kawaii-san ^_^  yup, highschool student po ^_^  yung NHK World Premium po ang alam ko eh (yung white letter ang NHK sa logo tas nasa may bilog).. hindi ko lang po alam sa NHK World TV (red letters).

urgh.  no offense to these Akiba Idols and their fans pero hindi talaga okay sa idea na magpperform sila sa Kouhaku >_<  urgh.  Leah Dizon??  hindi nga maganda boses niya kapag live eh >_< anu ba yan .....

^ Yeah, they might sound ok for idols and they probably rule over Akihabara...but to stand beside seasoned Kouhaku performers like enka singers and other time-tested artists, parang medyo di ata OK. Pero un nga, kung matutuloy ito, for sure mananalo na ang male team. Wahahahaha!

Marami din pala ang nagsabing instead of the Akiba idols, why not get more popular seiyuus like Hirano Aya to appear on this year's Kouhaku. After all, voice actors are very popular for their songs too. ^__^

asar. nasama ang Sukima Switch pero wala ang Laruku >_<   badtrip.  wala man lang KAT-TUN sa list.. mga best-sellers this year. haaay nako.  kahit si Hikki wala rin >_<  anu ba yan?!

Yeah, nakalagay na yan sa Kouhaku website. Ayos ba? Tama ba namang gawing idols ang Red Team. Ano to, sure na talo na ang female team? Hello, Utada's Flavor of Life is such a big success this year...ewan bakit di siya kasama. Buti andyan pa rin si Nakashima Mika, Ayumi and others. Pero ung sina Leah Dizon...oh puhlease. Para lang yan tunog ng nag-aaway na pusa pag kumanta sabay sabay yang mga idols na yan. Wahahaha!

On a lighter note, I'm happy that Gackt, Hirai Ken and EXILE made it. Waaaa, baka kantahin nila ung Toki no Kakera!!! Walang Gospellers, huhuhu.
