    Se7en

"I want to impart my feelings in Japanese", SE7EN's new song & concert

Popular Korean singer Se7en is set to release his 6th Japanese single "Ari no Mama" on July 4 and on the 7th and 8th, he holds 2 concerts in Tokyo.

Se7en debuted in 2003 with his 1st album "JUST LISTEN" and has now become a top star of his native country. It was 3 years ago, after the decision was made that he will debut in Japan, when he started learning Japanese.

Regarding his new song, it is a strong dance track. Se7en easily handles the rap intonation in Japanese. It has the same beat of dance songs in Korea. But as Japanese place more importance on melody, I felt a little worried [in doing the song], Se7en conveyed.

For 5 years after being accepted in an audition, while cleaning the office and the like, he practiced to sing and dance. My favorite genre are hip-hop and R&B, the colorful music element of J-POP has also entered. Im studying because I would like to make a genre into my own style, Se7en said.

In Se7en's concerts, he wants to present a rawer sound. I work hard and persevere so that I can impart my feelings in Japanese, Se7en expressed.

    SE7EN 6th single

    01: Ari no Mama
    02: Believe
    03: Ari no Mama (Instrumental)
    04: Believe (Instrumental)

Oh, I see...another Korean to jump on the lucrative Japanese bandwagon Wink Artists like BoA and Shinhwa have looked into making it into the J-music scene because of the financial benefits, hehe.

Used to like se7en (and some other Korean singers); I remember him as that rollerskating singer. I think his style is a bit RnB. But since I discovered J-music, it's goodbye K-music forever. J-music is on a totally different level!!

    Kpop News

The date 7/7/2007 has proven to be auspicious for singer Seven.
His sixth single album released in Japan took the seventh spot on the Oricon music chart, while his concert in Tokyo as part of his 2007 Japan tour has ended successfully.

Seven has held his tour since June 30 along with a live band, drawing some 30,000 viewers. At his concerts, the singer showed off impressive dance moves and demonstrated his skill at playing the guitar and drums.

Seven captivated the hearts of his female fans by showing off his muscular body at his outdoor concerts despite heavy rains, and sang his Japanese debut song "Light" along with his fans. Seven's Japanese tour came as his last event this year prior to his upcoming debut in the United States, and drew some 300 Korean fans as well.

The singer will promote his new single album this month in Japan and leave for the U.S. in August to begin the recording of his debut album in that country.

Seven says he has been unable to perform in Korea as much as he originally planned this year, but will work hard to achieve his ultimate goal of releasing an album in the United States.

The rollerskating singer, hehe ^^,  I also love K-Pop (i despise k-rock) but of course, J-Music is still the best! ^^,  Incomparable ^^,

Yeah, other K-artists such as Tohoshinki (TVXQ), K, SS501 and Younha are now also known in the J-Music community.  (Correct if I'm wrong about Younha's nationality.)

I will still support those artists but I'm much more fond of their Jap songs ^^,  Weeeeeeh. I miss Shinhwa >.<

Kakaibang talumpati ito, Lady Rinoa-san! Hehe. Ok, sasagot din ako. ^_^

I used to listen to a lot of K-pop and some K-rock artists like Kang Ta, Shinhwa, Yada...ayun, mostly males. I never listen to females, hehe. But when I eventually learned of J-music, I abandoned K-music altogether, though I am still a fan of Kang Ta. I won't buy his CDs anymore, though. Will just save up money for my J-music stuff. Stick out tongue

Jacky Cheung Defends Filipino Maid Firings

Hong Kong pop singer Jacky Cheung hit out at claims he has fired 21 Filipina maids in three years, saying he was an "ordinary employer", a report said Friday.

The popular crooner, who has been banned from hiring helpers from the Philippines for a year, said he could not remember how many maids he and his wife had hired and fired over the years, the South China Morning Post reported.

Jacky Cheung's music video 'Long Time No See'

"I consider myself an ordinary employer. Many of my friends terminate their maids' contracts and I believe it is normal in any employment," he was quoted as saying from the eastern Chinese province of Zhejing, where he was on his concert tour.

"An employer can fire an employee if he or she fails to perform, whilst an employee can also resign if he or she is not happy about the employer.

"Is there anything wrong if we fire a maid when we find out that she is not helpful?," the 46-year-old said.

Cheung, who has been dubbed "the Terminator" by domestic workers, said some of them resigned on their first day after seeing there were too many stairs at the four-storey luxury home he shares with his wife and two young daughters.

The Philippine consulate said Thursday it has placed Cheung and his wife, a former actress, on its banned list of sub-standard employers for one year.

Cheung said his four latest maids all resigned after they found out he had been blacklisted a few weeks ago, leaving him with no hired help. He now relied on his mother, relatives and friends to help, and was recruiting maids from other countries, according to the Post.

Cheung, one of Hong Kong's biggest stars, rose to fame in the mid-1980s. Like most stars here, Cheung has been packaged as an all-round entertainer, starring in a number of hit local films as well as singing Canto-pop, a hybrid of Chinese ballads and Western pop.

Korean Pop Singer Kangta Holds First Concert in Japan

    http://www.asianbite.com/default.asp?Display=1155

    [/font]

Kangta, member of the group HOT that spread Hallyu throughout Asia held his first concert in Tokyo, Japan, and reflected upon the meaning of 'Hallyu' by interacting with his fans.

Approximately 2,000 fans from Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, and other countries gathered for 'Kangta JAPAN 1st Concert 2007' which was held on the 8th in Tokyo. Some Japanese fans were wearing t-shirts with the KBS drama series Loveholic logo as a group expressing their devotion.

At the press conference prior to the performance, Kangta commented, "I wanted to show a different side of me. Especially with my military service coming up, I worked to create an emotional yet mature performance." He selected the songs he wanted his fans to hear himself.

"I do want to debut in Japan. But, this stage is not a start. This concert is truly for my fans who have always supported me, and when I do decide to debut it will be more systematic and better planned."

He continued, "I first want to get married once I finish my military duty. My first plan is to establish a stable family. Then, regardless of whether I am married or get older, I always want to sing on stage and in front of the camera."

Also, he introduced the digital single which is to be released at the end of this month which features 3 songs, from ballade to dance beats.

Kangta sang 24 songs, those he wanted to sing and those he liked, ranging from jazz to ballades, and dance.

When he went on stage for his encore performance, fans prepared a surprise birthday cake and congratulated his coming birthday on October 10th (Happy Birthday Kangta!). Kangta offered HOT hit songs 'Full of Happiness' and 'Hope.'

After the concert, Kangta commented, "This concert was planned around a romantic ambience with soft vocals rather than performance and I am glad the fans here liked it. But I am not 100% satisfied. I will work harder to return with a more mature performance. I wasn't able to meet with my fans at home due to my activities overseas, but I will release a 4th album towards the end of the year and focus on activities in Korea until next March."

Taiwanese Singer A-mei to Play Turandot in Japanese Opera

Among the 60-member cast, 10 actors and actresses will be recruited from Asian countries outside Japan.

Turandot is based on a Persian story about Princess Turandot who lived in the Forbidden City in Beijing in ancient times.

Japanese and Taiwanese press said that the Akasaka ACT Theatre would stage 59 shows of Turandot in Japan.

Akasaka is a business district in Tokyo.

The year 2008 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Italian composer Giacoma Puccini, who died of throat cancer in 1924.

The Japanese version of the opera will be a scaled-down version of the three-act Turandot played in Italy and other countries.

When Turandot was staged in the Forbidden City in 1998, the 15- million-US-dollar production, directed by Chinese film director Zhang Yimou, consisted of 1,000 participants, 350 alone from Italy.

The chorus and extras were augmented by Chinese artists.
