American rock band Weezer, famous for hits such as "Beverly Hills" and "My Name Is Jonas," has released the Japanese version of their new album "The Red Album" today.

As a special surprise for the Japanese listeners, Weezer did a cover of one of BoA's Japanese ballads entitled "Meri Kuri" as a bonus track. Lead singer Rivers Comuo of Weezer commented that he was "instantly taken" by the song.

This is great for the promotion of BoA and SM entertainment. SM has been waiting patiently to tackle the American market.

BoA and 9 other singers are remaking an english version a famous song by a singer named Wei Wei (i think.. i translated directly from the chinese articles.. she is one of the singers that will be participating as well…), named “Dedication of Love” ( direct translation of the song title 爱的奉献). These singers are from Brazil (丹妮拉), Paris (阿拉玛), Indonesia (Ruth Sahanaya), Russia (谢尔盖·叶塞宁), Korea (BoA), Ukraine (Rusiana Gaitana), India (SONU), Oman, Greece (PHOEBE) and China (Wei Wei).

Producers Roald Hoffmann and Brian Alan(?) initially invited these 10 singers to sing their composition ” The Same Earth” ( direct translation of the song title 同一个地球), with recording that will take place in New York. But the earthquake in Sichuan happened and the 2 producers saw Wei Wei’s performance of “Dedication of Love” (direct translation of the song title 爱的奉献) on one of the shows planned to raise funds for the earthquake area, and got to know that this song has been sung for over 10 years in China. Hence, they made the decision to remake this song.

It will be a world wide release for this single, and all singers have agreed that all the earnings for this release will be contributed to the Sichuan Earthquake to help rebuild the area. The recording will now take place in BeiJing, on the 9th of June.

BoA's hit song "Valenti" will be featured in a Japanese musical.

Japan's leading entertainment company Avex said it will begin producing a musical entitled "Pieces of the Heart" to celebrate its 20th founding anniversary.

The musical, which will be staged at the Aoyama Theater in Tokyo from September 15 to 29, revolves around a heartbroken heroine who isolates herself from the meaningless relationships of today's modern society and takes off on a futuristic journey that centers around a mysterious object called "Pieces of the Heart."

The musical will feature 21 songs that have been carefully selected by Avex. They include hit songs performed by Avex artists over the past 20 years. It is the first Japanese musical to feature only the hit songs of artists from a single entertainment company.

The songs include past hits by Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki, Kumi Koda, Exile, Ami Otsuda and Ami Suzuki.

Avex also selected "Valenti" from BoA's second studio album, which sold 1.5 million copies in 2003.

Throughout the performance period, Avex plans to exhibit costumes, accessories and trophies of Avex artists.

A reporter from IS Plus recently broke a rumored story that BoA was planning a comeback to the Korean market with a new album after more than 3 years of concentrating on the Japanese market.

The reporter stated that BoA is planning to return with a target date for late September - October and that she is secretly filming her music video in the shadows. This got some of the BoA fans in Korea buzzing.

Unfortunately, this same reporter later stated that he had received misinformation and that she wasn't planning a comeback. The video she was filming was for a documentary for her fans and not a secret music video for a new album.

naiinis na nga ako kasi hindi pa xa bumabalik sa korea. mas magaganda kasi songs nia in Korean eh. wah.

every year po kasi eh nagrerelease siya ng Japanese at Korean albums. pero lately, puro Japanese materials lang nirerelease niya >_<   and based sa mga articles and iba pang balita on anything BoA ay sa Japan parin xa.  she goes back to Korea every now and then para sa guestings sa ibang shows pero wala paring album nor new song >_<

SMTOWN LIVE 08 is a large-scale music festival hosted by SM Entertainment that will feature the live performances of some of Korea’s most popular K-pop names like TVXQ, The Grace, Super Junior, Zhang Liyin, Girls’ Generation and Shinee, all of whom are signed under SM.

BoA plans to fine-tune her overseas promotional events and take part in the concert as a member of SM Entertainment, one of the biggest entertainment and celebrity management agencies in Korea.

The singer recently said that she is happy to be a part of the ‘SMTOWN LIVE 08’ concert and to meet her Korean fans. She also promised to do her best to deliver a fabulous performance. It will be BoA’s first on-stage performance in nine months since her ‘AnyBand’ concert held last November. At the upcoming music festival, BoA plans to perform her past hits as well as new songs.

Is it the same one as the Pieces of Heart? 

 im not sure pero marami akong nakikitang compilation albums ng avex sa yesasia.   di ko lang alam yung title.
