story:
the story revolves around bussan (played by okade junichi, who i find so gorgeous for a japanese guy. lolz.). Bussan is a 21year old-unemployed baseball player. his father is a barber who owns a barber shop in kisarazu, a small town in japan. he found out that he got a cancer and would only live for 6months so he tries his best to make the remaining months worthwhile by spending time playing baseball with his 4 friends who got some problems of their own. his friends are:
1. bambi (played by my fave japanese guy, sho sakurai) is a 20 year old uni(versity) virgin student who is in love(?) with mohko (played by sakai wakana). mohko is known *** in kisarazu but bambi is more than that. he wants to change her and wants to turn her to a normal girlfriend. one of my fave scene was in the bridge where bambi piggybacked mohko coz of some old tale that if u piggybacked in that bridge, u and the girl will be a couple. bambi is honest, naive, innocent and romantic. he is the son of a kimono store owner and thats the reason why u will always see him in kimono especially in dates. (lolz. love sho so much!). at the near end of the series we found out that mohko is a virgin too. she just dressed in flirty clothes. and yeap, bambi and mohko did "IT" on the 8th episode in uchhie's house.
2. ani (played by tsukamoto takashi. yeap he's familiar. he also played "kurosaki" in gokusen1 live action. he's "kuro", shin and uchi's friend!)
ani is not his real name. i really didnt catch his real name in the series. bussan also doesnt know it. he's called that way because of his popular younger brother jun (i dunno the actor's name but he's "noda" in gokusen1 and one of the virgin boys in the series "stand up").
ok. ani loves gambling and he receives lesser food and attention from his parents coz he is not productive and he is unemployed. and basically because of having a greater younger brother. he became the coach of his brother's team at the end. (i love his hair. so so kawaii.lolz.) his last wish to bussan was for bussan to call him by his first name.
3. master (played by sato ryuta)
master got 2kids. and his wife is pregnant with their 3rd child. he runs a pub(which is the hangout of cat's eye). he has a kleptomaniac sister-in-law. and he got an older wife which he calls "senpai". he married early and he cant stop havin babies.
4. uchhie (played by okada yoshinori)
uchhie got speaking problems. he stutters a lot and he is very mysterious. his friends dont know where he lives but one thing is for sure. he is one year older than all of them. he does stupid things that leads them to bigger trouble but often, he solves them. at the 9th episode, we found out that his father is a CIA. uchhie runs slow for a baseball player.
at the beginning, bussan and bambi are not in good terms coz of a baseball game. they made up and then bussan tells his friends he's gonna die of cancer (where they found amusing!) they're a baseball team in the morning and a gang of thieves in the night. they stole things but uses the money for good reasons like buying baseball equipments for the highschool team . they dont steal for no reason. yeap, they have a costume. black leather jacket with red prints on it. and they call themselves "kisarazu cat's eye". why the name? coz they live in kisarazu and the term "cat's eye" is from the popular anime and manga series "cat's eye" (remember hitomi? yeap i watched cat's eye before. it was shown in channel7 2years ago! the 3 girl thieves.) and also the town's symbol is a cat. the baseball team is named cats as well. bussan died at the end. and master named his 3rd child after him.
in a whole, it was a great series. i like the way they treated each other and it was so damn unique! i admitted i bought the series coz of sho sakurai but in the end, i watch it coz of the story not because sho was there. the soundtrack is ok too. the ending song is "a day in our life" by arashi,
i recommend it!
