Kobukuro sings theme for Sorimachi drama

Popular duo Kobukuro has been chosen to handle the theme song for the NTV drama series, "Dream Again," starring Takashi Sorimachi (/forums/p/554/4565.aspx#4565).
The song, titled "Aoku Yasashiku," is their fifth consecutive single to
be used as a television drama theme. It goes on sale November 7.

It was discovered on Sunday that Shunsuke Kuroda, the main vocalist of folk duo Kobukuro, recently became a father. His wife, whom he married in 2005, gave birth to a son on Saturday night.

<SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Trebuchet MS">The 49th Japan Record Awards were held on Sunday. Popular duo Kobukuro took home the top prize for their song "Tsubomi," while EXILE won Best Singer with "Toki no Kakera." Both were chosen from among the 10 winners of the Gold Award, which included artists such as Ayaka, w-inds., Kumi Koda, and Kiyoshi Hikawa.

The title of Best New Artist was given to the Hello! Project unit °C-ute.

I can't imagine how many people have the same ringtone in Japan :p

On Wednesday, the Recording Industry Association of Japan announced that Kobukuro's
song "Tsubomi" has reached 3 million chaku-uta (ringtone) downloads.
This still trails the 4 million downloads of O-Zone's "Dragostea Din
Tei," but it ranks #1 among Japanese artists.



RIAJ only announces chaku-uta download numbers at the million marks. Songs that have passed the 2 million mark include Remioromen's "Konayuki" and Hikaru Utada's "Flavor of Life" (which broke 7 million downloads across all digital formats, including chaku-uta, last July). Tsubomi" has been available for chaku-uta download since
January 2007. It won the Japan Record Award in December, and has been
chosen as the entrance march song at the opening ceremony of this

To be honest, their million films song is the best I've ever heard... Reminded me of the theme song from Doogie Howser because of the keyboards...

Kobukuro To Release All Limited Cover Album!


Kobukuro are by now heading into their 10th year since their major debut and are going to release their very first cover album "ALL COVERS BEST" on August 25th. For the two of them, this release, which is limited to 400,000 copies allover contains songs full of strong memories, which are "even now playing deep in their hearts."

Among the songs on the album, Ozaki Yutaka's song "I LOVE YOU", which they had been presenting during their tour last year and even "Mou Hitotsu no Doyoubi" and "ANSWER" which had been sung during street lives. Also the song "Mikazuki" by their friend Ayaka is included making it an outstanding cover for a male band. "I am lost for words, when it comes to that strength in singing, which also greatly includes the lyrical world (of the song). We have been singing together and listened to each other closely numerous times, while we tried to create our own approach."

Kobukuro added concerning their thoughts on the cover songs: "There are lots of "songs" we've been listing since our childhood and have grown up with. With the memories and views of that time, there are still ringing in our hearts, and I have taken those long with myself of that time."

Ang galing-galing ng Kobukuro sa performance nila na 'to with ayaka. Of course, napakagaing ni ayaka kasi kanta niya 'to. Pero nabilib ako lalo sa Kobukuro kasi bukod sa ang galing ng voicing, sinunod nila yung original pitch ng song na pambabae. ASSSSSTIIIGG!!! :thumbup:

Kobukuro covers music for "Dohyo Girl"


The popular duo Kobukuro will provide the theme song and insert songs for the TBS drama series "Dohyo Girl," which stars fashion model Nozomi Sasaki (22) in a story about sumo wrestling.

All of the songs are being taken from Kobukuro's cover album "ALL COVERS BEST" (on sale August 25). The theme song will be a version of Tetsuro Oda's "Itsumademo Kawaranu Ai wo," while the insert song will be different for each of the show's 10 episodes, starting with Yumi Matsutoya's "Sotsugyou Shashin." The other songs that are planned to be used include Yutaka Ozaki's "I LOVE YOU," Shogo Hamada's "Mou Hitotsu no Doyoubi," and Derek and the Dominos' "Layla."

"Dohyo Girl" premieres on July 13.
