<H3>Romance for Rosa and Jin?</H3>

The pair were spotted having dinner together with friends in mid-May, after which Akanishi drove Kato back to her Tokyo apartment and spent the next 17 hours there. He then became a regular visitor, leading reporters to assume that Kato has ended her relationship with actor Tamaki Hiroshi (27) and taken up with the young idol singer.

Akanishi is a member of KAT-TUN, and has appeared in several popular drama series such as "Gokusen" and "Anego". He shocked fans last October when he took a break to study English in the U.S., leading many to speculate that he had quit showbiz, but he returned to performing in Japan in the spring.

Kato is one of the most closely watched of today's young actresses. With an Italian father, she's also one of the growing number of "halfs", who seem to be almost taking over in music and TV. She is currently starring in her first drama lead role as an ambitious young bar hostess in "Jotei" on TV Asahi. In standard practice, her agency has denied her relationship with either Tamaki or Akanishi.

<SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Trebuchet MS">In May, the magazine spotted Akanishi driving Kato home after a meal. Then earlier this month, he reportedly stayed over at her place for 17 hours, and continued visiting during the following week.

<SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Trebuchet MS">Kato was recently rumored to be dating actor Hiroshi Tamaki, but they are said to have broken up. Kato's agency says that she's friends with both Tamaki and Akanishi, and denies that she has dated either of them. As for the alleged 17-hour stay, her agency stated that he was simply one of a group of friends having a party there. Akanishi's agency also says that the two are just friends.

I think it's about time Mang Johnny loosens up a bit and allow the boys (and men! utang na loob) to have relationships. :p

KAT-TUN's Jin Akanishi
has landed his first sole lead in a television drama. He will appear in
NTV's "Yukan Club" (often translated as "The Leisure Club"), which is
adapted from Yukari Ichijo's popular manga of the same name.

The story is a comedy revolving around six popular high school
students. Akanishi plays Miroku Shochikubai, the son of the police
commissioner.

This week, Nikkan Sports is revealing the winners of its 11th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix,
one award each day. The awards cover television dramas that aired
between April 2007 and March 2008, with the nominees gathered from the
quarterly awards. All winners were chosen by public vote in late March.

The first award, announced Monday, is the Best Actor prize. It was given to Jin Akanishi for his role in the popular "Yukan Club"

KAT-TUN's Jin Akanishi is taking on his first role as a voice actor. He
will lead the Japanese dub of the Wachowskis' live-action "Speed Racer"
movie, providing the voice of the protagonist Speed, played by Emile
Hirsch.

Based on the anime series of the same name (an
adaptation of the original "Mach GoGoGo" series in Japan), the movie
opened in second place at the U.S. box office this past weekend, though
it took in much less than producers had aimed for.

"Speed Racer" hits theaters in Japan on July 5.

A recent Oricon survey took a look at the sex appeal of male
celebrities, asking 500 high schoolers (both male and female) which men
they considered to be sexy.

KAT-TUN's Jin Akanishi came out on top, beating out the older Masaharu Fukuyama (#2) and Takuya Kimura (#3). Mocomichi Hayami has recently been getting more attention with his role in "Zettai Kareshi," placing him in 4th with L'Arc~en~Ciel frontman hyde.

Hiro Mizushima has also been rising in popularity, and he ended up at #6 on the list. The rest of the top 10 were Hiroshi Tamaki, Gackt, Jun Matsumoto, and Yu Shirota (tied with Matsumoto).

haha.According to the Friday mag, Jin is dating Maki Nishiyama, a model. Reports say that earlier this month, Jin was seen picking up Nishiyama from her apartment. In addition to that, the couple, last month, were seen having dinner together at a steakhouse.

Rumour has it that the two of them started seeing each other after Nishiyama guested on cartoon KAT-TUN.
Jin's management and even Nishiyama herself denied that they are a couple. They stated that the two of them are just friends. Nishiyama's management, on the other hand, didn't give a comment.

lol! sorry, kame fan ako, make that akame fan so wala akong masyadong reklamo about their being chosen most of the time. pero tama ka, the others should have their share. nakamaru had sushi oji na rin, both the drama and movie. naunahan pa nga nya mag-movie si kame (hmm... di ko alam kung nagka-movie na si kame.) i think it's uebo na hindi masyadong nag-ddrama/act. dunno why. baka preference nya or something. he's more into musical stuff siguro. he's the first among KAT-TUN to hold his own solo concert.

KAT-TUN Akanishi Jin's Sexy Singing Excites Crowds

On November 2nd a special preview event of the film 'BANDAGE' was held. As Akanishi and the other cast members made their way onto the stage, loud screams erupted from the audience. The director Kobayashi lauded Akanishi. "I personally requested to have Akanishi play the lead role. He quickly executed whatever I asked him to do. He exceeded all expectations." The costars also praised Akanishi. "Akanishi-san was very friendly and made everyone relax." "Although he acts as if he doesn't care, he actually is gentle and was constantly caring about the other members." Akanishi looked slightly embarrassed but managed to say "I'm flattered (laugh)." The crowd laughed to see Akanishi acting so shyly. He then commented about the film. "The worldview was brilliant. I immediately fell in love with it."
In the film Akanishi's character fronts a five member rock band called 'LANDS'. The role seemed to have become a natural part of him. Just like in the movie, he and the other actors who played the band members could be seen smiling and joking with each other throughout the event. Even while they were onstage they whispered among themselves and shared a few laughs. Kobayashi, while smiling at the five actors, said he was satisfied with the work he'd done. "Since I'm originally from the music industry, it was my first time to direct a movie. But there was no stress, and I was able to relax and enjoy the whole process." [Kobayashi is famous as a music producer.]
For each of the 1000 tickets for a seat at the event, 300 fans applied. They were treated to an unexpected surprise. After the movie ended, the real LANDS members started to perform live. Kaneko wildly beat the drums, the director Kobayashi played the keyboard while the vocalist Akanishi sang seductively. Soon everyone was on their feet. LANDS played aggressively throughout their performance.
'BANDAGE' is set in the 1990s, when rock bands were all the rage in Japan. The young main characters work hard to achieve their dreams, but eventually discord surfaces, and they eventually find themselves on the brink of dissolving the band. The movie also takes a jab at the dark side of the music industry.

"Bandage" movie sells 70k advance tickets on first day

Advance tickets for the movie "BANDAGE" (opens January 16) went on sale last Saturday. Now, Toho has revealed that about 70,000 tickets were sold on the first day, setting the record for a live-action film distributed by the studio.

Directed by music producer Takeshi Kobayashi and written by Shunji Iwai, the film has received lots of attention for being the first movie to star KAT-TUN member Jin Akanishi (25). In the movie, he plays the vocalist of a rock band called LANDS. The film's theme song was released this week as a single under the band's name, and it immediately captured the #1 spot on Oricon's daily ranking chart.

Ayumi Hamasaki and Jin Akanishi Share a Rumoured Relationship

After ending her relationship with Tomoya Nagase, rumours about Ayumi Hamasaki dating Tomoya Nagase's junior, Jin Akanishi (a member of KAT-TUN, a Japanese boy band formed under Johnny & Associates [Johnny's]) has been on the spread.

It was reported that Jin Akanishi was seen cohabiting with Japanese model, Nishiyama Maki, before the rumour about him and Ayumi Hamasaki broke out. However, the relationship between Ayumi Hamasaki and Jin Akanishi seemed to be a known secret in the Japanese entertainment field.

When interviewed, a friend of Ayumi Hamasaki denied the rumoured relationship and thinks that since Jin Akanishi respects Tomoya Nagase a lot, it is not possible for him to fall in love with his "ex-sister-in-law".

However, an experienced reporter thinks that this rumoured relationship may be Ayumi Hamasaki's intention of using Jin Akanishi as a sensationalizing "tool". This is because, in the past, while dating Tomaya Nagase, whenever Ayumi Hamasaki had got a new released single or album, there would also be relevant rumours about her beau at the same time.

Despite so, the media too thinks that with both parties being a popular figure in the Japanese entertainment field, it is not surprising if both of them develop feelings for one another along the way.

Akanishi Jin Charmed 2800 people with Last Live of LANDS!

Akanishi Jin, starring in the movie "BANDAGE", held the last one-night live as a member of the band LANDS at SHIBUYA AX Tokyo and charmed 2800 people in two lives. They performed all 7 songs including the single "BANDAGE" released last November, with Akanishi as vocal, Kaneko Nobuaki as drummer, and director Kobayashi as keyboard.

The live started with the first album titled "Olympos" which was released under the name LANDS, and the atmosphere of the venue reached a high point. There were more than 70 thousand fans who applied for the tickets with the postcard attached in the theme song CD and the sticker of the advance ticket. Only one lucky fan out of 50 was selected and each of them was truly excited.

Akanishi acted in a very cool way from the beginning to the end in the live. However, after the live, he said: "I have participated in the whole process of the CD production from the very beginning, so I have a strong love to the songs. Now we are very proud of the band. I hope the work will be loved. Please write today's event down as one page to your life."

"Finally we reached the final page." said the director Koboyashi full of emotion. The screen writer Iwai Shunji went on the stage in a hurry and expressed deep regret to the disbanding of LANDS: "If the band could continue to work for one more year, there would be much more possibility."

"BANDAGE" is a film with the background in 1990's with the band boom. And some young people were struggling in pains and worries for major debut of their band. The movie distributor TOHO has already decided to air the movie in South Korea and Taiwan. In addition, the movie will be adapted to drama in South Korea as well.

Akanishi: "Thank you for coming to the LANDS live event yesterday. There are a lot of people have watched film already. I hope more people know the songs and enjoy them as well. Akanishi Jin Reveals Ambitions to Hit the World!

KAT-TUN member Akanishi Jin announced his intention to make his debut overseas on the live show "Akanishi Star Live You&Jin / 赤西仁 Star Live 友＆仁 You&Jin" in Nissei Theater Hibiya Tokyo on February 9th.

The show was full of the style of Las Vegas, the paradise of the entertainment show.
"I want to bring this to USA." as said Akanishi, he shows much more ambition than Johnny's artists usually do.
The show titled "Peace of the world" represented the future club with big screen, new lighting and lasers, with his stylish songs, dance, and most advanced sound such as rock, hip-hop.

With the loud sound echoed in the venue, almost every audience was standing up. Akanishi's charming dancing with female dancers even caused screams. "I would be very happy if you like the music I like." said Akanishi in his trademark hat and parka.

Mr. Kitakawa, the president of Johnny's Jimusho said: "I want to try American style long-run star show of one star in Japan." and appointed Akanishi to this show. With the studying experience in USA, Akanishi wrote about 80% of the songs in English!

They also imported the latest stage and dancers in the show, which makes the first Johnny's star show with the "atmosphere not been seen in Japan".

"English will be used mainly in order to meet the needs of those who don't understand Japanese." Akanishi showed his ambition for oversea activities.
"I want to bring this to other countries, to somewhere no one has been, such as Las Vegas. It has some similarities in the structure." commented Akanishi.

It is obvious that Akanishi is going to breaking the existing idol image. And he is probably going to your country very soon!

In fairness, ok naman yung boses nya. Di ko pa naririnig yung sinabi ni oasis-kun na LANDS (yon nga ba yon), pero di ko ata type yung bumabalik sa JE/pop ang boses nya. Yung song na Bandage dyan sa clip na yan, di ko talaga type yung ganung style nila na ipit lagi. Di naman sila eunuch, bakit kailangang ganun ang tunog? :P

Tina-try ko i-identify kung ano yung pinagkaibahan ng boses ni Jin sa mga KAT-TUN songs at sa LANDS pero parang wala naman masyadong difference bukod sa mukhang synthesized yung voice niya sa Bandage (Eto pa lang yung LANDS song na napakinggan ko). Sa KAT-TUN kasi, dalawa sila ni Kame na in-charge sa lead vocals kaya wala nang echo-ish na sound dahil dalawa na sila - isang melody at isang harmony.

Sa totoo lang, parang wala namang malaking pinagkaiba ang music style ng KAT-TUN at LANDS. Siguro dahil pop-rock naman talaga ang KAT-TUN at hindi bubblegum katulad ng ibang JE groups.

@oasis-san: Try listening to KAT-TUN's On My Mind. Err, wala akong maisip na song nila na okay i-recommend at sa tingin ko maappreciate mo. :P Para lang makita mo yung comparison na sinasabi ko.

one time nung adik ako sa "nobuta wo produce". parang may nakita akong vid na may gitara si Kame (siya ba yun? hehe) at iniistrum niya . basta yun. .pero siyempre hindi ko tinapos yung vid hehe. .kamusta naman yung suot at hitsura niya dun hindi keri ng mata ko hahaha. .Pero yun nga may gitara siyang hawak. . wala lang, naisip ko lang na ishare kasi sabi mo pop-rock yung group nila eh. :)

^Ahihi. Sa character niya lang yun dun sa drama. Di sila tumutugtog ng instruments (TOKIO lang ang JE group na nagpplay ng instruments. :P). Pop-Rock for the most part ang music ng KAT-TUN at, ahem, "wild and sexy" daw ang theme nila. :D Pero minsan may mga RnB songs din sila at si Jin ang in-charge dun. Mahilig siya kumulut-kulot at magfalsetto eh. Hahaha.

LOS ANGELES, CA - United Television Broadcasting (UTB) announces the American debut of Japanese superstar performer Jin Akanishi at Club Nokia LA Live on June 19th and 20th. Akanishi, a lead vocalist of the J-pop superband KAT-TUN, will perform a variety of songs in his native Japanese and in English. The You and Jin Tour's two-night stand in downtown Los Angeles consists of three shows featuring a Vegas-style production, with big screen live simulcasts, arena-lighting and lasers, back-up dancers and chorus in the 2,300 seat venue.

Akanishi is a lead vocalist for the renowned Japanese pop group KAT-TUN, which has tallied 14 consecutive chart-toppers and sold 5.2 million CDs. On April 4, 2009, tickets went on sale for KAT-TUN's eight consecutive shows at Japan's largest venue, the Tokyo Dome, along with follow up shows in Osaka and again in Tokyo. All 440,000 seats sold out that day.

Akanishi performed 32 shows of You and Jin from February 7th to February 28th, in Tokyo at the Nissei Theater. The event is the brainchild of Johnny Kitagawa, President of Japan's top talent agency Johnny & Associates, Inc. “I wanted to try an American style performance in Japan, with some of our greatest talent,” said Kitagawa. The success of the show encouraged Kitagawa to expand the tour outside of Japan, starting in Los Angeles.

“I'm thrilled to bring this show to my fans in the U.S. I believe we will broaden our fan base and reach by performing Japanese and English songs that appeal to a wider audience. We have worked hard to produce a high-quality, high-energy, visually stimulating show and I am certain our American fans will enjoy every minute of it,” offered Akanishi.

Okay. May nabasa ako sa isang post na ginenerate as related topic daw dun sa blog na ginawa ko about dyan nga sa news na yan. .Sabi dun. .bakit daw kailangan pag ibebreak ung North American market eh kailangan mag english. kasi yung Super Junior daw nag concert sa Thailand (nakalimutan ko ung bansa eh, pero kunwari thailand hehe :D) ang kakantahin nila ay korean songs nila tapos magsasalitalang lang sila ng kaunting Thai. .O kaya another asian artist mag peperform sa vietnam, kakanta ng native songs niya tapos magsasalita lang ng kaunting vietnamese. bakit daw pag north america na yung pinag uusapan dapat laging may english album or an English song or whatever. . .

Binasa ko po maigi yung post. Target ba talaga nila ay North American fans ni Jin? or A wider market share of people who are not into J-music? Hmmm. .

As an anon on 2ch explains, the hat's brand, Buiby, belongs to Shirota Yu's brother Jun.

The Shirotas are connected to the "Akanishi Gundan," or "Akanishi Troops," the nickname of Akanishi Jin and his circle of friends. Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo, among others, are members as well. They go out, they party, yadda yadda yadda.

So, Yoochun's hat? Could be a coincidence. Or maybe a certain friend passed it along.

Akanishi Jin: "I will not leave KAT-TUN!"

In preparation for his solo performance, Akanishi Jin has been traveling to the U.S.A. and during a serious interview, he had his hood pulled low over his head, showing his usual cool and answering the questions with "For now I will just give my best."

KAT-TUN on the other hand have started their most recent tour inside and outside Japan on May 2nd
Concerning the performance in the United States Akanishi stated that it had been something he wanted to do himself. When asked whether he would return to KAT-TUN, he commented: "I don't know this beforehand."
However, as the question kept coming, he stated "I will not stop (with KAT-TUN), so please keep up your support", as it was called for by the fans.

Jin had left Japan for Los Angeles

KAT-TUN's Akanishi Jin (25) has left to get ready for the solo live in LA on June 19th and 20th from Narita airport on May 9th. Seeing Akanishi with his hoodie lowered down to his eyes in front of the boarding gate before departing in an hour. From Nikkan Sport's interview, Akanishi answered briefly, "Enthusiasm? I will try my best".

KAT-TUN is having their national and oversea tour since the 2nd. Not participating the tour, without a doubt and decided to focus on the event in America, "It's something that I've always wanted to do", he explained. When asked about if he'll return to KAT-TUN, "I don't know what will happen in the future", which he answered unclearly.

Again, before boarding, from the numerous qestions "Are you quitting KAT-TUN?", "I don't plan on quitting. Please support us from now on", he called out to the fans.

UTB shows American dancers auditioning for You and Jin in USA

UTB (channel 18.2) in LA shows another YOU&JIN in USA special corner. First they read a letter from a fan asking what's the dress code for Jin's concerts and if it is alright to bring penlights and uchiwas (LOL). They revealed a bit about the concerts and said there were 300 American dancers auditioning for YOU&JIN and the host pretended to be Jin with his hip moves...(LOL)...Then they show the video clip of the dancers auditioning in English...The host also said Jin was there at the audition behind the camera. And the UTB host said there was star dancer auditioning from the massive selection, such as the famous dancer Jillian Meyers. She is Janet Jackson dancer, assistant choreographer for Tovaris Wilson on “So You Think You Can Dance” Fox TV.

It sounds like Jin has a new song for his concerts..

We now learn that the dance coach for YOU&JIN is Sky Hoffman who has worked for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Aaliyah, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake, Aerosmith, and Britney Spears.

Jin Akanishi's "YOU&JIN" tour to continue across 7 cities in the US

Jin Akanishi announced earlier tonight [at his concert] some big news which answered a question.

The YOU&JIN tour will continue in seven cities across the U.S. From September to October, he will make stops in New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Anaheim, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

This answered a question and speculation that has been going around on Jin and J-Pop communities. There was speculation that he was trying to stay until October, well it’s safe to say that he will be in the U.S. for a while. It also answered the question whether or not this was the only concert he was going to have.

Interview with Jin Akanishi in LA

In June, Jin Akanishi, a member of the well-known Johnny's group KAT-TUN, decided to strike out on his own with a number of solo shows in the USA. Before he performed three shows in California, JaME was able to speak with the young star. During the interview, he shared his thoughts on his endeavors with JaME.

What made you decide to do solo shows now?

Jin: I love composing music, and I had lots of my own music that I created. I wanted to perform my songs and have everyone listen to them.

Your recent solo tour and the shows in Los Angeles are called You & Jin. What kind of concepts are you hoping to convey with this title?

Jin: ‘You’ refers to all the fans, and 'Jin' is me, of course. It’s kind of…(pauses) I have friends in different countries, and there are lots of fans in many different countries, and we’re all working together. It doesn’t matter what color your skin is – yellow, white, brown – or if you’re gay, straight, lesbian, everybody works together to achieve one goal, and that’s to make a great show.

Do you plan on releasing any solo material?

Jin: I want to! (laughs)

Is your style as a solo artist different from your work with KAT-TUN?

Jin: I think it is very different, more hip-hop, Western-style pop.

How different is it to perform solo as opposed to performing with KAT-TUN?

Jin: In a group, if I make a mistake, someone can cover it up for me. When I do solo shows, I have to take responsibility for any mistakes. And, I’m creating my style, my show, my music…but it’s not that different because it’s still all about having fun.

Since doing your own solo tour, do you feel you have you grown as an artist?

Jin: Ahh, I don’t know…I don’t feel like there’s a difference in me.

You also have a lot of acting experience. Is there something you can do as an actor that you don’t get to do as a singer, and vice versa?

Jin: When I’m acting, I can be a different person. It’s fun because I can experience things that usually wouldn’t happen to me in real life. As a singer, I can sing my songs for people to listen to. Sharing my music with everyone is the best part.

What do you expect from your shows in Los Angeles? Do you think American fans will be different from Japanese fans?

Jin: I’ve heard that American fans are more active, they like to dance and really…(snaps fingers) groove. In Japan, people like to just watch the show. My music is club style, and I really want everyone to rock out.

Is there anything special you really enjoy doing in Los Angeles?

Jin: I have many friends in LA, and I like hanging out with them. I also like to play golf. The view and the weather are so amazing when I am playing. You can’t really get the same in Japan.

What other countries would you like to perform in?

Jin: All over Europe, in Canada, other parts of Asia…then I want to go back to Japan and do more solo shows there.

Akanishi comments on leaving KAT-TUN

Jin Akanishi (26) has written a comment on the official Johnny's mobile site, his first since the news of his expected removal from KAT-TUN. In his message, Akanishi formally announced that he is going solo.

Akanishi explained that he and KAT-TUN have different directions, but he also assured fans that he does not dislike the other members nor have personal problems with them. He apologized to the members of KAT-TUN for causing them trouble in both big and small matters, while also thanking them for his time with them.

Akanishi stated that he hopes to be active as a solo artist not just in America, but also in other parts of the world such as Asia and Europe. He also said that he naturally wants to be active in Japan as well.
