<FONT color=#800080>SMAP’s Inagaki Goro in a new play
Daily Yomiuri Sakanari Miho writes about Inagaki Goro and his upcoming play.
Sakanari writes, “Maho no Mannenhitsu (Magic Fountain Pen), starring pop group SMAP member Goro Inagaki, is being performed at Parco Theater in Tokyo until June 12. Inagaki said in an interview that he wants to express the simple fun of conversation in the play, newly written and directed by Satoshi Suzuki, who heads theatrical company Rappaya.”
“It is a work in which fantasy is woven with surrealistic laughter unique to Suzuki-san’s work,” Inagaki said.”
“The drama is set in New York in the 1920s. Parker (Inagaki), an unsuccessful 27-year-old writer, goes to a department store and buys a “magic” fountain pen for 5 dollars, believing a good fountain pen will help him write a great story. He falls in love with sales assistant Delta (Megumi Nishimuta), but dumps her when he has a chance to marry Sailor (Seika Kuze), the daughter of a major writer. Parker believes he will, if married to Delta, be spoiled by sweet happiness and thus not succeed as an author.”
