Bae Yon-Joon (34) has appeared in a Japanese adaption of his 2001 Korean drama “HOTERIA” with actress Ueto Aya (21). The still shot is promoting his appearance on the TV Asahi drama which is set to air on April 19th. The two have worked together for an “Oronamin C” commercial.


Bae Yon-Joon is credited for starting the Korean wave with his drama “Winter Sonata” (Fuyu no Sonata) in Japan.

All about Ueto Aya ???


Actress and singer Ueto Aya was born on September 14, 1985. A native of Tokyo, she joined in the All-Japan National Young Beauty Contest in 1997. Though she did not win, her special award from the panel of judges opened up many TV commercial opportunities and eventually, helped jumpstart her career in show business.


In 1999, she started her J-pop career by forming the group called Z-1 with Fujiya Mai, Nishiwaki Manami and Nejiki Mami and embarked on a solo career two years later.


It was also in 1999 that she began her acting career, with the movie "Murderer -Killer of Paraiso-". The following year saw Aya in her first TV dorama, Namida wo Fuite. But it was in 2001 that her popularity as an actress soared with her role in "3-nen B-gumi Kimpachi-sensei". She then starred in other successful series like "Koukou Kyoushi 2003" and played the heroine in the hit movies "Azumi" and "Azumi 2: Death or Love".

Starting at Fukuoka's Zepp Fukuoka, performances will be held in Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo.


Aya says she wishes to see her fans' smiling faces soon. Aya will sing 'Namida no Niji' and other hits.

Actress Ueto Aya (23) announced yesterday at a press conference her upcoming role in the TBS/MBS produced 'Wachigaiya Itosato ~Onnatachi no Shinsengumi~', a two-episode drama to be aired on September 9-10, 9PM.

This is a drama adaptation of the best selling novel by Asada Jirou (55). Ueto plays the role of Itosato, a girl who fell in love with Hijikata Toshizou, portrayed by Itou Hideaki. Actress and singer Aya Ueto is taking on her first role as a mother in a Fuji TV drama series this fall, tentatively titled "Wild Mama."



The comical home drama stars Ueto as the strong-minded Ayu, who has just married a divorced man (Yo Oizumi),
despite a 12-year age difference and contrasting backgrounds (she grew
up by the sea while he was raised in the city), as well as a 5-year-old
son from his first marriage. While Ayu and her husband have their
disagreements at home, she also gets in arguments with people outside
the house, such as the other mothers at her son's kindergarten.



The series is being written by Shizuka Oishi and directed by Yuichi Sato (who also directed "Attention Please"). Fuji TV will broadcast the show on Tuesdays at 9:00pm, starting on October 16.

<SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Trebuchet MS">This spring, NTV is adapting the manga series "Hokaben" as a live-action drama), starring Aya Ueto. Originally written by novelist/lawyer Hiroyuki Nakajima, the story deals with the growth of a novice lawyer.

The comic ran in Evening KC between 2003 and 2006, and is scheduled to resume in April. The protagonist is originally male, but producer Yoshio Yamamoto felt that a female character would get a better response from viewers.

Ueto plays Akari Domoto, an idealistic lawyer who wants to "rescue the weak." She joins a large law office, though she is assigned to a lowly department whose only other member is her boss, who was transferred there after making a mistake during a case.

While Ueto is known for her light-hearted characters in previous dramas, this series places her in a serious role.

"Hokaben" will air on Wednesday nights at 10:00pm, starting in April.

Ueto has been chosen as the female lead in the Japanese dub of the
"Speed Racer" movie. She will provide the voice for Speed's girlfriend
Trixie, who is played by Christina Ricci.

Jin Akanishi has already been revealed as the voice of Emile Hirsch's Speed.

The Japanese version will hit theaters on July 5.

Akanishi Jin (23) of popular group KAT-TUN and Ueto Aya attended the Speed Racer press conference on 30th June 2008 in downtown Tokyo; the movie is to be released on the 5th of July, this saturday.

Akanishi did the Japanese voice-over for lead actor Emile Hirsch's (23) role, who was also present at the conference. "He is kakkoii, and exactly what Speed is. I'm very happy that he did (the voice over) naturally." Akanishi Jin appeared to get along well with Hirsch and also conversed fluently in English with him.

Ueto Aya, who did the part of Akanishi's/Hirsch's lover in the show commented that Akanishi's sexy voice and acting skills were very enjoyable. A slightly flushed Akanishi responded that it was very kind of Ueto to make such a comment.

This fall, Fuji TV is producing a drama series called "Celeb to
Daihinmin," a romantic comedy starring Aya Ueto and Yusuke Kamiji.
Ueto's role is said to be inspired by American celebrity Paris Hilton.

The
story revolves around Alice Hirata (Ueto), the spoiled and naive
daughter of a wealthy hotel magnate. On the other hand, Kamiji plays an
impoverished widower raising three children. Between the two
contrasting characters, romance is born.

In charge of the drama
are producer Hiroyuki Goto and director Hidetomo Matsuda, who both
worked on the popular "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e" television series.

It was already announced two days ago that SMAP member Kimura Takuya and Ueto Aya had the most endorsements for 2009. Ueto and her struggles acting as a detective


Today was a press conference for Ueto Aya's (24) upcoming dorama "Zettai Reido" that is all about a special investigation unit working solely on cold cases similar to popular US TV series "Cold Case." Ueto is going to play the role of a detective for the first time in her career and had various struggles adapting to her new role. "I didn't want people to get tired of my usual image and decided to show a completely new side of me this time. It was my own suggestion to play such a role, but I didn't expect that it would be so difficult for me to lose myself in the role," she revealed. For someone like her who used to portray bright and energetic characters almost all the time it's quite understandable to be struggling with such a different kind of role.

According to Tantei file, there is a rumor that Ueto Aya and Morita Go of Johnny’s Entertainment boy band V6, are getting married next year.

This big couple admitted for the first time recently, that they have been dating. Though fans have always assumed that they were a love-love couple.

Amazingly, they started dating 9 years ago and have been cultivating their love. However, even after admitting that they have been dating, they are still avoiding public dating. The couple usually enjoys drive date or visiting each other’s places.

Aya Ueto, Masaaki Uchino reunite for romance drama

Aya Ueto (24) will star in a short drama series this fall, titled "Juunen Saki mo Kimi ni Koishite." This will be her first time leading a series on NHK.

The show reunites her with actor Masaaki Uchino (41), whom she worked with in the 2004 tennis manga adaptation "Ace wo Nerae!" Back then, the two played the roles of a student and a tennis coach, but here they will be playing love interests.

The story focuses on 26-year-old Rika (Ueto), a single editor who is unskilled in love. The story starts when a man (Uchino) appears before her, telling her that he is her husband from 10 years in the future. He informs her that she will meet the young version of himself in a few days, but begs her not to marry him.

Both Ueto and Uchino will have double roles, playing their characters in the present and 10 years in the future.

The drama is an original story written by popular screenwriter Mika Omori. NHK will broadcast the series for six episodes on Tuesday nights at 10:00pm, starting on August 31.

Ueto Aya shot a new CM for “Baitoru.com” with comedian duo “Audrey“. This CM is for a job search site, and Aya was asked, “If you could choose a part-time job, what would you do?” She answered that she would work at an Izakaya (restaurant which serves tapas and alcohol).

Both guys from Audrey were very spoony with Aya, and said to her, “If you worked at an Izakaya, I would go there everyday“, “I would order 3 draft beers and….. YOU.”

Aya also stated that the Audrey duo are her favorite comedians. It seems like both Aya and Audrey enjoyed shooting the CM.

Actress Aya Ueto, 24, is appearing with Yoshimoto comedians Chihara Junior, 36, Atsushi Tamura, 36, and Junichi Komoto, 35, in a new series of commercials for Oronamin C energy drink.

Ueto, who has been appearing in ads for the energy drink since 2004, plays an office lady. She said that she seldom gets the chance to have a summer holiday, so she needs all the energy she can get.

Aya Ueto to star in drama based on blind musician (co-starring Keisuke Koide)

Actress Aya Ueto (24) will star in a Fuji TV drama special titled "Ai wa Mieru ~ Zenmou Fuufu ni Yadotta Chiisana Inochi," in which she will play a blind character for the first time. The story is based on singer-songwriter Satoko Tatemichi (28), who has been blind since birth.

The drama is adapted from the book "Ai wa Mieru ~ Zenmou Fuufu no Takaramono," which covers Tatemichi's life as she developed her musical gift despite her blindness. She made her major label debut last year with the song "Takaramono." While working on her music, Tatemichi also married a blind man in 2004, and she gave birth to a son in 2006.

In the drama, Ueto's character is named Juri Tatematsu. Like Tatemichi, the character gets married and gives birth to a child, despite opposition from people around her. While raising the child, she continues pushing towards her dream of becoming a professional musician. Her blind husband, a guitarist and masseur, is being played by Keisuke Koide (26).

Ueto and Koide worked with staff from the Tokyo Metropolitan Welfare Association for the Blind, spending a month training for their parts. The two also visited Tatemichi and her husband to learn about their lives.

Fuji TV plans to broadcast the "Ai wa Mieru" drama this September.

Ueto Aya and Uchino Masaaki showed up at press conference for the upcoming drama “10 nen sakimo Kimi ni Koishite“, which will start on August 31st on NHK.

At the press conference, Aya said, “There is a scene which we had a big fight, but for myself, I could not understand it at all. If I chose the guy as my husband, I would never complain to him.”

She also said that she is hankering for marriage and having family.

Yutaka Takenouchi, Aya Ueto co-star in Fuji TV's Monday night drama

Fuji TV's Monday night drama series this fall will star Yutaka Takenouchi (39) and Aya Ueto (24), it has been learned. The show does not yet have an official title.

Takenouchi has been in several "Getsu 9" dramas before, including the 1997 show "Beach Boys." His last time starring in one was with Ryoko Hirosue (30) in the 2001 series "Dekichatta Kekkon." Ueto, on the other hand, was most recently in last year's "Konkatsu!"

In the new series, Takenouchi plays an aquarium employee named Kengo, who seems ordinary at first glance but actually possesses a secret that he would sacrifice everything in order to protect. Meanwhile, Ueto plays Risa, a young woman working in the sex trade in order to pay off her brother's debt, though her situation has led her to contemplate suicide. These two characters, both full of despair, meet each other and end up entering a contract marriage purely for its benefits. However, as they overcome various troubles, their relationship begins turning into true love.

Shota Matsuda (24) and Kie Kitano (19) have also been confirmed as cast members. The series will begin in October, airing every Monday at 9:00pm.
