Huge Ecstasy haul seized at Narita
NARITA, Chiba Pref. (Kyodo) Police confiscated about 80,000 tablets of the drug MDMA, also known as Ecstasy, at Narita airport from a Japanese woman and her daughter in March, according to investigation sources.
The pair, aged 61 and 25, were arrested.
It was the second-largest haul of Ecstasy ever seized in Japan and the most ever at an airport or sea port, according to the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry.
The street value was estimated at 320 million yen.
