[Maneki Neko]

L'arc~en~ciel (or Laruku), in case you didn't know, was formed in 1991 when Tetsu recruited Hyde and 2 others (Pero and Hiro) to form a band, which he named after a movie he saw. (The nameis translated into English as "The rainbow in the sky")


A year later, when the band was starting to gain recognition playing in their hometown, Osaka, Hiro and Pero sequentially withdrew, obliging Tetsu to convince his long-time friend, Ken, to drop his studies in architectural design and to convert Sakura to L'Arc-en-Cielism, after seeing him drum in a Live House. In April 1993, the newly reformed band ruled the underground charts with their debut album, Dune.


This was, of course, merely the beginning as they steadily enlarged their fan base until Sakura, their erstwhile drummer, was arrested for heroin possession in 1997 and left. Too close to their dream to quit, the remaining members organized a new tour introducing Yukihiro, previously of Die in Cries, on the drums. The first of such concerts had a possible attendance of 56,000 and sold out in four minutes. Another record was set when they released two full albums, Ark and Ray, at once and saw them share the first two spots on Japanese charts. <O:P>Their next record, Real, even though excellent, will unfortunately be know as Laruku's last album in a long, long time. Compilations, remixes, more compilations... Everyone seemed to be heading in different directions with their solo projects and the foul stench of disbandment was in the air.</O:P>


However, the band members seem to have renewed their vows. One can almost call their Shibuya Seven days 2003 concerts in June a reunion tour and a new album from the band has been announced. (Source: Project J)


Now, Laruku is more popular than ever and their popularity show no signs of waning. In fact, Laruku has been holding concert tours as far as the United States (always sold-out, mind). Recent albums and singles have been monster hits and it looks like Laruku will be around for a long, long time. [H]:Y

we got copy of his solo concert.. and i got so excited on how he will sing 'horizon' (its a fave driving song of mine).. but when he did.. i fainted...i admit we didnt watch the whole concert.. and just skips skips scans.. in disappointment..

Nope. Gundam is not for me. I'm aiming for Nintendo Wii which will be released on December 2 here in Japan. (wii.nintendo.com) Ultra cool. The last Nintendo console I got was the Family Computer. Hehe. This Nintendo Wii is for the whole family to enjoy. Even your parents will love this.

I saw an MTV of them once (I think Ready Steady Go). I just don't like it when they smoke when they perform. It has a big influence on kids.

Magpeperform sila sa Pop Jamon March 16 but unfortunately, As One and Link ang kakantahin nila. Not the new song.

Parang may isang grupo sa Japan na nangyari din ganito- dapat April ang release ng album nila pero naging July. Di ko lang matandaan kung sino pero naging curious ako kung bakit April then July. May na-find out ako at gusto ko lang i-share:

April- 1)almost start of Golden week if not the start. 2) Start/End of the fiscal year for some Japanese companies. 3) Pro-baseball season opening.

July- 1)mid-year bonus (we have 13th month bonus in the Philippines but aside from December, they also give a one-month bonus around June or July). 2) Start of summer vacation. 3) Hanabi festival.


Marketing technique ito para dumami sales nila sa pag-release ng bagong album. Bale para sa customer tulad natin, ang significance, alam na natin kung kailan may bagong album na lalabas-- April and July (at alam natin kung kailan tayo dapat mag-ipon ng pambili ng album. Hehe.).

Ang range ay Y1,000 to Y3,000 per album depende kung ilan ang laman na kanta at artist. (Mga P415 to P1,200.) This is the price for original copies but of course you'll decide depending on how you value the artists.

So for you, would these prices justify Laruku albums?

For me, Ken's is "suave". Pang pogi ang boses. Hehe. Yung kay Tetsu, soft rock type. Kay Yukihiro, medyo parang punk ang boses nya. Of the 3, ang pinakaayaw ko nun ay yung kay Yukihiro kasi parang medyo siga or lasing. But now, it is my fave, 2nd is Ken's and 3rd is Tetsu's ^_^

Laruku's newest single "Seventh Heaven" will be available at Karaoke system "Joysound" as well as for download of mobile ringtone music starting from March 30 2007. This is the first time anybody has ever released their song on Karaoke / music ringtone before the single is actaully released. According to Oricon, it is suppose to be a pretty new marketing idea.


Laruku also performed in the program NHK MUSIC JAPAN on April 23rd. (On Air date yet to be determined)

Good news for fans who haven't been able to get tickets to see popular
rock band L'Arc En Ciel. They announced yesterday that they have 6
different releases coming up before the end of the year. Starting with
their next single, "My Heart Draws a Dream", on August 29 they will
releases three singles, a new album and two live DVDs over a 5-month
period. The group revealed the news as they opened their nationwide
hall tour at the Yokosuka Arts Theatre. Though they could easily sell
out a stadium tour, vocalist Hyde said the band decided they wanted to
perform with less distance from their fans. Yesterday 2,000 of those
fans enjoyed a 21-song set that included no less than nine new songs.
L'Arc have been one of the outstanding bands in the J-Rock scene for
most of their 16-year history.

I was captured by Hyde-kun's singing.
We are gonna challenge them during the tour in autumn, this live was surely a stimulus.

i think epekto rin ito ng sobrang dami nilang release this year at para narin next year. every month kasi ay may release sila (hanggang next year) kaya puspusan ang pag-iipon ng fans. i think mas pinag-iipunan din kasi ng fans yung medyo 'big' things like the new album and DVDS kaya hindi na maxadong nagfofocus sa CD singles na mapapakinggan naman sa new album. it's just my opinion kasi ganyan ako ngayon. :)

Pero alam naman natin..Japanese fans are notorious for buying whatever their fave artist's releases. And besides, barya lang sa kanila ang 1200yen.

Ayaw ko man isipin, but the only reasonsi couldthink ofis that they've lost a great number of Japanese fans. Ganun naman talaga pag nawala ka ng matagal. IMO Seventh Heavenwas a great comeback single.. too bad it didnt appealed much sa mga Japanese. Same with MHDAD, it was a great follow-up single, i actually like it more than SV.. but look at its sales [:(]

Project: yukkiss '97~'07

As we all know, yukihiro san officially joined L'Arc~en~Ciel on 1998/1/1. This coming New Year's Day marks his 10th anniversary as a member of L'Arc~en~Ciel. However, in our minds, he has already became a member of the band when he stood on the stage of Tokyo Dome together with hyde, ken and tetsu on 1997/12/23, the day of Reincarnation.

This year on 12/23, L'Arc~en~Ciel is having their 2nd live concert of the new album tour "KISS" at Saitama Super Arena. On this special day, we want to gather messages from oversea fans to show him our deepest appreciations for what he has done for the band and us fans in these past 10 years, and also give him our best and warmest wishes for the coming future.

We are going to use internet as a tool for this project, gathering messages, artworks, postcards etc., make them into a book, and the staff of this project will bring it to Japan on 12/23.

No matter yukihiro san is your favorite or not, if you are an L'Arc~en~Ciel fan, you should participate in this project. Even just a few sentences, a few words, please have them expressed out, to show yukihiro san how much we care about him and the band.

Here are a few guidelines for the project:

1. The length of the message is up to you; however, try to keep it short and simple. Sweet, warm, and to the point messages are preferred.

2. Please stick to the topic. This project is dedicated to yukihiro san, for his 10th anniversary as a member of L'Arc~en~Ciel, so please limit your words about the other three members to show your respect.

3. Please have your message in either Japanese or English. If you can write Japanese, that's great, please write in Japanese. If you can't, don't worry, just write in English. He can read English as well.

4.Please make sure you have your name (first name, last name, or nick name, whatever you want to be called), country, and state/province (example: New York, USA) either in the title of the e-mail or at the end of your messages.

5. Any artworks, postcards, etc. should be no bigger then an A4 page size.

HYDE tour...akala ko kasi magrerelease pa sila ng another album this
2008, its just like the time they released smile tapos sumunod yung
awake, and then they had solo activities. Akala ko ganun uli yung
mangyayari, sana ganun nga. And I read an interview this year (I
don't remember na where, sa patipati ata or sa rr newsmaker) tetchan
said that Laruku's activities are planned na til 2009. So sana
talaga sila pa rin...I believe in tetchan...he can keep the band
together!!! Ganbette leader-sama!!!



For
happier news...KISS is the number 39 album of 2007. Plus, all
their singles are in the top 50, except for hurry xmas, which is in the
top 100!

December, may she rest in peace. Our thoughts are with you and

Dec. 21st, 14.07.







My dear mother, Sakurazawa Sonoko/Enko passed away.







From last year she complained a strange health condition.



On Spring of this year she was diagnosed with cancer.



The doctors said that if she passed the Summer,



she would have to fight cancer for other 9 months.







I love my mother.







Every year at my birthday,



and even this year I was told she managed to pass it peacefully,



I kept thanking her for giving me birth.







I feel protected by my mother big love,



WIth her love she supported me.







When I joined Larc,



and the live was near the suburbs are she always came to see me.



In those days, she checked all my tv appearance, radio programs, magazines.



Influneced by the fact I wear just black clothes,



the number of her black clothes increased as well.







She was a firm person.



Even suffering, even in pain, she didn't complain,



However present was the pain she would react,



she wasn't at all the sort of person to show tears before others.



Consciuous till the last, she took care of people around her.







In '97 I was arrested.



I met her across the glass.



She kept staring at my face,



And keeping silent she was crying.







In that moment of personal desperation she kept supporting me.







She didn't reject me, she was a positive with every friend.



She accepted every friend without discrimination.







When in '99 I formed ZIGZO she was very happy.



She accepeted every member of ZIGZO as family.



Even when S.O.A.P. was formed she was incredibly happy.







Death is very painful,



I managed to spend with her as much as possible of the time left.



By chance, last year she could see the event at Budokan, Lion Heads and SOAP live, and my performance of I'm so happy with Hyde.



This year on June, with the collaboration of TETSU, RYO and DEN, I managed to show her ZIgZO once again.



This Summer as a consequence I recorded a songs dedicated to her.



I could make her listen to it.







Every year my mother has enjoyed the Budokan live event.



Even in her figure is different in a casket case,



We were together on stage,



And I could show her this year Budokan event.







I don't want sympathy,



I wanted to write down my memories on my mother.
