You can ask anything about Rurouni Kenshin here and I will answer them as accurately as possible.

Here are the most frequently asked questions about RuroKen (that I've encountered):

1. How many episodes does RuroKen have?
A: 95. The 95th episode was never aired in the Phils. Nothing really happened in that episode so you're not missing much.

2. What episodes are based on the manga?
A: Episodes 1-62. There are fillers too somewhere between those episodes.

3. Who created RuroKen?
A: The genius who created this is Nobuhiro Watsuki. It is his first work. And no, he's not yet dead. XD

4. How many manga volumes are there? Is there an English translation?
A: 28 Tankoubon and 22 Kanzenban. Yes, VIZ is the official distributor of the English version.

5. What is the setting of RuroKen?
A: The series starts in the 11th year of Meiji (1878) in Tokyo. Then, in episode 39-62, all the main characters are in Kyoto. The TsuiokuHen (Reminiscence Arc) is set mainly in the Bakumatsu during the time when Kenshin was still known as Hitokiri Battousai, an assassin for the Choshuu clan.

6. When is Kenshin's birthday?
A: June 20, 1849

7. Is Kenshin still shown today?
A: Yes, surprisingly. It first aired in Studio 23 in 1998 and that station is still airing it every weekday. How cool is that?

Kenshin and Okita never fought so there isn't much information about Okita in RuroKen.

But the historical Okita Souji's sword style is called Tennen Rishin Ryuu. It's also the style used by Kondo Isami and Hijikata Toshizou.

Good question! hahah.. Marami actually.. kahit si Kenshin, base sa totoong mga tao.

Historical figures who appeared in RuroKen as themselves:

Katsu Kaishuu - he was a naval officer during the Tokugawa Shogunate and Vice Minister and later Minster of the Imperial Japanese navy during the Meiji Period. He appeared in filler episodes 79-82 as a man saved by Kenshin from assassins.

Katsura Kogoro - Head of the Choushu Han during the Bakumatsu and one of the three great heroes in the Meiji Ishin (Ishin no Sanketsu). In TsuiokuHen, he was Kenshin's direct superior during the Bakumatsu and he was the one who ordered Kenshin to kill for the new era. Thus, it's safe to say that he created Hitokiri Battousai.

Oukubo Toshimichi - One of the three great heroes in the Meiji Ishin. In the RuroKen series, he was Japan's Home Minster who asked Kenshin to go to Kyoto and assassinate Shishio Makato. On May 14, 1878, the most important date in the RuroKen calendar, is really the date of Oukubo's assassination. In RuroKen, he was killed by Seta Soujirou. In history books, he was killed by Shimada Ichiro and 6 other disgruntled samurai (s).

Sagara Souzou - he was the captain of the first unit of the Sekihoutai (a group that was formed during the Bakumatsu as Ishin supporters). In RuroKen, he acted as Sano's surrogate father. Sano even took his surname after his death. Sano is also a "member" of the Sekihoutai.

Saitou Hajime - he was the captain of the third unit of the Shinsengumi during the Bakumatsu and was one of the few who survived during the Meiji Era. During Meiji, he changed his name to Fujita Goro and worked for the Meiji government as a police officer. In RuroKen, all these were mentioned. Saitou was one of Kenshin's strongest opponents.

Takasugi Shinsaku - he created the Kiheitai (a volunteer militia that accepted members from all social classes). A close friend of Katsura Kogoro, he was the one who hired Kenshin as part of the Kiheitai and later gave Kenshin to Katsura to be his hitokiri. In RuroKen and in real life, he died of Tuberculosis.

Yamagata Aritomo - during the time that he met Kenshin (again... after having not seen each other for years) in episode 3, he was the head of the Imperial Japanese Army. He offered Kenshin a position in the government which of course, Kenshin refused. Kenshin said that he doesn't want to be rewarded for killing people.

Historical figures used as models for some RuroKen characters:

Kawakami Gensai - he was one of the four most notable hitokiri (assassins) during the Bakumatsu. Some sources describe him as having women-like physical features who was extremely good with a sword. He was one of the models for the Kenshin character.

Okita Souji - he was the captain of the first unit of the Shinsengumi. He was among the best swordsmen in the Shinsengumi. In some sources, they describe him as "a man who smiled and laugh well." He was the model for Seta Soujiro's character.

Sakamoto Ryouma - he was one of the most influential people during the Bakumatsu. Watsuki (RuroKen's creator) mentions that one of the models for the Kenshin character was Sakamoto Ryouma.

Takeda Kanryuusai - he was the captain of the the fifth unit of the Shinsengumi. Most Shinsengumi members didn't like him because he was "sipsip." He was the model (at least in name) for Takeda Kanryuu's character, a sly, manipulative man who hired Aoshi and the Oniwa Banshuu as his bodyguards and ordered Megumi to concoct opium.

Amakusa Shirou - he was the leader of the Shimabara Rebellion (an uprising by Christian peasants in Shimabara [Nagasaki] during the Tokugawa Bakufu). The people who were involved in the uprising believed that he was the "son of God." RuroKen's Amakusa Shougo was said to be the "second-coming" of Shirou.

@_@ But to answer your question: no... impossible ito! hahaha

XDD

XD pero kahit imposible o hindi, yung laban nilang dalawa talaga nagustuhan ko, as in. nandun lahat ng kaba ko. every scene napapa-omigas ako at baka mamatay si Kenshin. O.O

ganun din ba nangyari sa manga? O.O as in ganun talaga pinagdaanan ni Kenshin sa laban nya kay Shishio or may changes?
