Yes you should!
For me, I really hate it. It's a headache. And even if I love both Japan and the Philippines. It's still unfair that Japanese companies will have control on our resources and dump toxic garbage to our seas and land.
What about you?

This is not against Japanese or Japan. It's against the unjust laws that both countries' governments are planning to impose.

i'm also against JPEPA..i agree with hideogu-san this is not against japan but on the agreement itself..it is bias more on Japan's favor and parang naisantabi lang ang mga pinoy..i love Japan and I also love our country im proud to be pinay against all these things about us...
aun ok lang magkaroon ng agreement pero wag naman sana ung mukhang kawawa ang mga pinoy sana if ever marevise nila ung agreement into a just and fair conditions..i just dont like the idea na porket were just a developing country e basta basta na lang ung ibibigay nilang mga conditions for our filipino workers basta lang makapagwork sa Japan..
i don't know siguro some would find it beneficial to us but how?Is there really something good about the agreement or superficial lang?..i hope our government would make the right judgment on this...ang hirap talga intindihin ng pulitika..*sigh*[:S]

another invasion na naman ba ito in the form of their toxic wastes?
btw, what is kyoto protocol for?

for me?? i think so!! yes!!, im mean me also..i dont really want or get in to political discussion dahil msyadong broad or maraming opinions na pede ika-ofend ng iba..for me however this JPEPA agreement is crazy!!..it think its pretty obvious na nasa upperhand and japan, mmm, actually thinking about it,,bakit nga ba nailakad yan sa senado?? their must be someone sa senate natin or something that back up's that agreement feeling ko...worse baka may ilang pilipino politician na ang nakinabang in- advance sa agreement na yan!! (sorry to say pro u know naman our govermnent meron talagang mga corrupt dyan na walang pake sa PHILIPPINES as a whole. worse ginagawa lang nilang stepping stone ang politics dito para yumaman sila!!..grabe, basura and pollution na nga lang natin problem na eh, maghanap pa ba tayo nd addtional waste at toxic pa!! hay..plus i also saw dun sa news na nagalit pa nga si senator enrile dahil sa term na ginamit nung japanese spokeperson nila or something (i suggest they send someone who can converse in english to avoid moremis-communication),even when your speaking the same languahe it can still lead to mis-com eh un pang may interpreter

IMHO, like the others I have nothing against Japan or the Japanese, otherwise we wouldn't be in this broad in the first place. But the JPEPA agreement was complete wracked out. I agree with akiya-san, there is no doubt that the reason this agreement was pushed through in the first place was that a few hands hadn been greaze and a couple of personal accounts had been fattened. The agreement is so blatantly to the disadvantage of the Filipino nation but our politicians seemed blinded to these facts. Our sea sources are our foremost export to Japan and most of other countries, taking out the tariff on them either gradually or not still gives the other countries too much advantage we cannot afford.
Ang problem kase, the people in power doesn't care who gets the brunt of the economic crises basta puno ang pockets nila!

Sa totoo lang matagal nang ginagawang dumping site ng Japan ang pinas, well illegally even before this came into light. Baka nilagay lang nila ayun explicitly kasi in the back of their minds eh they have been doing it so long and our government has not been able to curb it or address it properly so nilagay nalang nila on paper. Pero mali parin yun talaga.
It is a concensus na we have nothing against Japan and only are flaming the lopsided agreement.
Anywies, it is true that the JPEPA is whacked in so many aspects... soo in favor of Japan... heheheh... they just look down on other Asians... well ayun ung general stereotype nila towards other Asians...
About learning the language clause, i think it is imperative. Kasi they wont learn or use English. Heck they even have Japanese terms for Advance Physics. So they wont be accomodating to other foreign languages because they do not have the need to. Ayun lang ata ung reasonable and grounded clause dun hehehe.
Anyways sana maayos at magkaroon ng isang good compromise. We cannot offer much in reality to Japan pero sana naman inde tayo maexploit like what the previous JPEPA does.

Tama! Ang mali eh mali kahit pa nga it's being done for a long time already. Isa pa the Filipinos are not the only ones protesting this, there are factions in Japan who also view this agreement as whacked. Di ba nga they even wrote to our governement officials about it, pero walang nangyari.
As for the language clause, think it's well justified. Pano ka mah-function in any country kung di ka mag-aaral ng language nila. Even if you go to Canada, you still have to learn a few French phrases to help you along. So I think, okay lang yun. Ang main issue naman talaga dito was the rights being given to Japan in terms of our natural resources at ung pag dumped nila dito ng kanila wastes. I mean, huwag naman masyadong one-sided kung agreement and all to the benefit of the other country.
JPEPA: A raw deal for the Philippines How the trade deal with Japan would bring more pain than gain for the Philippines “The Philippines is ripe for more trade and investments” was Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo’s sales pitch at the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos, Switzerland recently. But with all of these bilateral deals and deal making happening left and right alongside the on-going efforts to jumpstart the stalled Doha negotiations in the World Trade Organization (WTO), the more relevant issue may not be our readiness for more trade and investment but whether opening the doors for these would actually benefit the Philippines. Are these deals good for us or are we in fact getting a raw deal in all of these bilateral and multilateral trade and investment agreements? The case of JPEPA The signing of the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) at the sidelines of the Asia-Europe Summit in Helsinki in September 2006 was hailed by both Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as a “milestone in the continuing cooperation and collaboration, setting a new chapter of strategic partnership for mutual opportunity and growth (for both countries).” JPEPA which has been referred to as a ‘mega treaty’ is a comprehensive plan for opening up of markets in goods and services as well as removing barriers and restrictions on investments. It is a deal that encompasses even our commitments to the WTO. The complexity of JPEPA became all the more evident at the Senate hearing conducted by the Committee on Trade and Commerce last November 2006. The committee, chaired by Senator Mar Roxas, heard differing views and perspectives on JPEPA. On one hand the committee heard read more : http://pinoysymbol.blogspot.com (http://pinoysymbol.blogspot.com/)
